Still in shock. How is this real? Kobe is gone? I just cannot believe this. What a tragedy. I live in Downtown LA and everyone looked devastated today. It's finally sinking in that he is gone. It is so crazy to even be typing those words.

RIP to Kobe, his daughter and the rest of the victims. Today is truly a sad day for us all.
I got chills when I first saw the headline. To be honest, it took about an hour or two for it to really sink in. Now I'm just shook AF every time I see a pic of him and his daughter.
Never really been the one to get overly emotional about a celebrity or ball player passing but losing Kobe has me absolutely **** up.

It's been hours, and it is still hard to absorb it. This feels unreal. I just feel sick the rest of the day.

Kobe wanted to be known for more than just basketball in his life. If everyone who was inspired by Kobe even just tries to reach his level of passion and achievement on this earth I know he would take that as the greatest purpose and achievement of his life. Mamba mentality 4evr.

Not only it's a great story but it just make sense that they go full supernova the rest of the way.
(Not to put Kobe's death in bad light; quite the opposite, this also means that Kobe's influence on this Lakers team, which is consistent on how big of a star he is, even past his playing days and now, death...)
Dont count out the Bucks. Giannis was close with Kobe. Kobe was said to challenge him to win MVP last year. Giannis deleted his social media right after this happen so he is hurting too. He might come out even more focused and motivated, which is frightening.
True true.
(Maybe i am the kind who wants to just to move on, it's just too sad i can't talk about it anymore and would rather talk about what's next.)
If there is no basketball in heaven, i am not going.

Re: Kobe Bryant Discussion, Part Two
I was watching basketball before Kobe came into the league, but I barely remember basketball without Kobe Bryant, and even in retirement, he’s still been a part of the game.
It’s like a part of basketball is just missing now.

Typically they wait to notify the family first. But TMZ doesn't care, they want the clicks, so they reported Kobe the second they heard it was him. Such a **** situation...can you imagine if you're a member of Kobe's family and you turn on the news and hear it that way?

Re: Kobe Bryant Discussion, Part Two
Kobe was loved here in Russia like no other player in history.
I cried yesterday like he was part of my own family, couldn't sleep till 4 AM. And in a sense he was part of big basketball family. Very important part.
He was my age, so I followed his career from the moment he was drafted. Hated him so much. Every time he sent my Spurs fishing.
He was always there, on the court, in the news, and I thought he will always be there...
I thought I will be growing old, looking at Kobe through the screen, following his success in this new exciting life after retirement.
He was supposed to personify my generation. Our toughness, our passion, our strenghth, our will to win. And now he's gone. And there is huge hole left. And it's not next man up, because there is no man like Kobe.
I don't know how to describe what I feel right now in this foreign language. Tonight I'm drinking myself to sleep, mourning Kobe, watching his games.
RIP buddy.

Then there's media outlets that reported all of his daughters dead, just to get clicks. That was back when it was assumed there was 5 victims, so they didn't even count that someone should have piloted the helicopter
