Yeah seriously... As a HUGE Caruso fan, I have seriously mixed feelings about THT's blow up... THT is clearly not going to be stealing minutes from Schroder, so the minutes are going to have to come from KCP and Caruso... It seems like the better THT does, the less Caruso is going to play... Which sucks, but as much as I like Caruso, he's a compromise offensively. THT is already a better 2 way player. So time will tell... But Caruso better get a ton of shots up right now if he wants to keep his minutes.

The Lakers replaced DGreen, Rondo and ABradley with Schroder and Wes. They didn’t add a third guard because of THT.

Wes replaces and gets DGreen minutes
Schroder replaces Bradley minutes
THT gets most of Rondos minutes

Caruso gets his usual minutes from last year. I believe slowly Wes will look to retirement and will provide 1-2 years of service. Then Caruso/THT can share his minutes too.

Logic would dictate... But it never really seems to with Kuz... He still gets his no matter what.

I hope I end up being wrong but it just 'feels' like Caruso is the odd-man-out this season... I think he figured with Rondo leaving, his minutes were safe.

I legit had to look up THT to see who he was. Since when has a second-round pick with 6 games under his belt been worthy of Initials and no listed name.

Schroder going to play close to 30 mpg. I'd give matthews and KCP both about 25 minutes each.

That's 16 mins left to share between Caruso and THT. With Caruso, it's all about his defense. If Caruso is in late in the game with AD, Lebron and Schroder....they don't really need the scoring threat of THT in that lineup. For most games, I doubt THT gets more than 12 minutes of play

Lakers used that 3 guard lineup last season, but with Harrell, morris and Kuzma needing minutes, I doubt they use that 3 guard lineup much anymore

Not really.

We expect him to get minutes but he is still low in the totem pole. Vogel likes him so you can expect him to get 10+minutes a game depending on how he handles it. As he improves on both ends, he should get more minutes especially if the Lakers starters rest in the 4th after a big lead.

The Lakers let go of 3 guards and brought in 2. Green, Bradley, Rondo. Wes and Dennis in.

Caruso’s minutes aren’t going anywhere.

And, with the load management coming up for Bron and AD, having a deep roster will come in handy.

Most of the time Rondo and Bradley weren't healthy at the same time. When Rondo came back at first, Caruso was getting DNPs even when his stats showed he was effective in the lineup previously. And usually Green and Bradley would sit the 4th which opened time for Caruso.

Schroder can get 30mpg which none of those other guys before would warrant. Maybe less depth at guard now, but minutes are still at a premium

Shawn Marion had similar odd dimensions.

He's like Marion but 3 inches shorter and he has a better handle. Offensively he's taken a few moves from Kyrie but isn't as good of a handler, shooter or finisher.

Lebron and AD should not average more than 30 min during the regular season.
No one should average more than 30 in this Laker's squad if full healthy. They should go 11 deep. For playoff, tighten the rotation to 8 deep.
