Imagine pairing Wall with Simmons. The worst shooting backcourt in basketball history, Brick Nation.

Rockets are 3-6 with some good new roleplayers like Wood, yet they want to say Wall is better than Westbrook. Nope.

Interesting question...

If not Simmons, then who?

Which team would be willing to part with a star unless Harden agreed to extend?

And which city has a star in a place that Harden would want to stay?

The list is thin.

I've got a fun one

KHRIS MIDDLETON for Harden!...just kidding.

Where would Harden want to stay?

New york? Knicks have nothing and BKN isn't trading Kyrie unless KD says it's OK.

Chicago? I guess the Rockets would take Lavine, Patrick Williams, and a bunch of picks. But then why would Harden go there?

LAL/LAC - nope

Atlanta? I guess they could trade Trae, but that'd be bad for optics and that team wouldn't be good anyway so Harden won't want to go.

Miami? Nobody to trade that Houston wants or the draft assets.

Boston? Would Harden want to stay? Would they trade Brown?

It really does feel like Philly or bust.

who are some other stars that might get traded?

Beal? Harden isn't going to Washington to play with WB lol

Fox? Harden isn't going to Sac, and Sac wouldn't rent him anyway.

CJ McCollum? this feels possible actually, but Portland might have to accept that it's a rental. And is CJ a young star like Houston wants? Would be fun to see Dame and the Beard go for a title though.

Devin Booker? Phoenix isn't trading him, and CP3 isn't playing with Harden again.

Jamaal Murray? Possible actually. Would Harden want to stay? And does Denver feel like Jokic/Harden is enough?

If the criteria is young star in return and the accepting team will be somewhere Harden wants to stay, it's going to be very difficult to make this work. If not Philly, then i suspect Harden will be dealt somewhere odd as a rental.

In the past year, the situation for sports teams in Houston is completely a disaster.

The Texans, Bill O'Brien destroyed the team before his dismissal and Watson wants to leave .... The astros with their cheating and now the rockets with the situation of Harden and that's without forgetting the awful trade of Westbrook against Paul

I **** love what John Wall said my i just became a fan.

James Harden is a once in a liftime talent on offense. But i'd never want to play alongside this manchild. Terrible leader, John Wall is absolutely right in what he said. **** Harden. Houston you guys are seriously better off without this **** influencing your team. I hope you get some good return for him.

How about they are 3-6 because 2020 Harden >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 2021 Harden.

He’s not on the table obviously.

Why would Philly offer him when no one else is offering a similar player?

For sure, but my point is that we don't have that info as of yet

Lol at all the Lakers fans that suddenly dont want stars forcing their way out.

I dont really see the issue really here. Harden gave Rockets his best years. They came somewaht close to winning but ultimately couldnt do it. Now he is in his last years of his prime and Rockets have no way to contend.

Why would the Rockets want to keep Harden right now if they can get assets for him and move on and why would Harden want to stay in Houston? To me it looks like an obvious win win situation, especially in a year with no fans on the seats.

Trade Harden to the Wizards and make him play with Westbrook again

Simmons doesn't fit well with Wall, he's not a top 15 player now, and no, there's no guarantee that he'll be a top 15 player for the next 6-10 years. Maybe top 20.

That said, my guess is that Houston will eventually have to come down on their ask, particularly because Harden is hurting his trade value with statements like last night. I don't know if Philly is actually making Simmons available, but he may be the best player that Houston can end up getting in a trade.

Seems like Harden is really creating a situation where teams just sort of don't want him... let alone for a wealth of their best players and assets. In another month, we'll all be wondering if he's worth his contract and if Houston has to package a pick with him to get rid of him!
