6 straight games of 6 plus assists recently. I like guys who can contribute even if they can't score well. His FT shot is there, maybe he can learn to shoot threes a little bit.

He does pass the ball though. With Conley gone, THT now has the highest ast/36 on the team, at 6.2. New arrival Dunn is higher, but Dunn has a limited two game sample --- too small a sample size to count.

Yeah looking at his game log he's at 6 plus assists a game in 25 minutes a game over his last 9 games, which is about 2/3rds of the minutes a star play could play. So his assists/36 is pretty high in that role, boosting his season numbers.

Ok, you got me there. Admittedly, I haven't seen them without Conley. If he can keep that up with low TO's, it bodes well for him as a future 6th man if he ever gets a consistent shot.

In the first half of the season, I rarely ever saw him look to pass. It certainly stood out in stark contrast next to the way the rest of the team was playing.

Yes, and when I say THT's 6.2 team leading ast/36 with Conley gone, I just mean without Conley's stats counting; I don't mean THT's stats since Conley left the team. If I recall correctly, THT has pretty much been the number two ast/36 guy on the Jazz behind Conley most of the season. NAW was close and might have been ahead of him a few times earlier in the season.

On another note, though I like Sexton a lot, and I am looking forward to him being the starting PG, it has been a bit irritating to me that both THT and NAW have higher ast/36 on the Jazz than Sexton.

I don't think Sexton is a PG. The Cav's were instantly better when they changed roles and made Garland run point full-time and moved Sexton to SG.

Sexton is an efficient scorer, but he freezes his teammates out of the action a lot; to the point that Kevin Love started weaponizing basketballs.

I'm not sure how that style will mesh with the way the rest of the Jazz play. Time will tell if he buys in or not.

THT still makes too many bone-headed mistakes to be "good" on a consistent basis, but good is probably a fakr average assessment. Unlike some good players, his high level of inconsistency makes him look awful one game and like a star the next. Honestly not sure he has the mental fortitude to take a step to the next level, but hopefully he will.

He doesn't suck and he definitely isn't slow and unathletic. What he does have is terrible shot selection but he is turning into a solid player for us and I think he still has quite a bit more upside.

Most players become irrelevant after leaving the Lakers, it’s not just THT. Hardly anyone hears about Kuzma, Lonzo (always injured?) etc.

About the only one that’s done pretty well has been Ingram really.

THT is okay. He's certainly fun but there are some skills he needs to develop to be more than a 7th/8th man, especially his shooting. He also was not in good shape to start the year. He's very athletic and seems to have played himself into shape.

He drives me a bit nuts sometimes with his decision making, but the guy has something that's just really likeable about him and I want to see him succeed

Kobe era Lakers, sure, I can follow that.

But Clarkson, Josh Hart, Ingram, DLo, Zubac in addition to the ones already named...

Respectfully, what are you talking about?

The Jazz fans on here sound like how Laker fans were for about 2 years before finally giving up on him

Why are we talking about a mediocre Jazz player!? No point now.. This thread was just an excuse to talk about the lakers.

He's the fat kid on the basketball court that throws his weight around. His only asset is his physicality. Someday, he is going to seriously injure someone that has some actual talent.
