Chicago Bulls are 100% fully vaccinated.

Covid is also spreading to the non-player personnel who aren't in the locker rooms. This is probably why the city got involved, the non-player employees are not all young & healthy.

This started with Vuc getting covid from the Sixers. I believe the Sixers were also fully vaccinated (well the ones that are playing).

by the way that chart you posted on the previous page doesn't make any sense, the y axis basically just ranks teams by their records.

It's almost exclusively Bulls' fans making the argument they should postpone games because of this, for supposed public health or other reasons.

And the circumstances are much different than a year ago. Anyone, in the States at least, can get a vaccine if they want it. And they have rapid testing capacity. So harmful outbreaks aren't being created in league or country by major sport's teams.

This is a competitive argument & it's something teams have to deal w/ across sports. The Philadelphia Union in MLS lost half their team for a one-off knockout playoff match. The league didn't change the rule & postpone it. If there was ever a justification, that would have been it.

These are a few regular season games of 82. Keep testing, isolate the positives, use the negatives, and get on w/ it until players are cleared to return in a week after mild or no symptoms. It's not a big deal.

Anyone being butt hurt over the bulls having games postponed is a donkey. They’re down 10 players. 10! And 11-12 if you’re counting injuries. They literally don’t have a team, stop being ridiculous because ur salty. No team has had this issue.

The team is 100% vaccinated and a majority have gotten boosters. Everyone is asymptomatic or has mild symptoms. Wtf are half of you crying about?

We can’t tell everyone to stay home forever. Everyone knows the risks of covid, and we’ve got a lot of tools to fight the disease.
Players are catching covid, but they are not dying. At some point we need to accept that covid exists, and hiding in your home is not a practical solution.

I understand your perspective and it is hard to argue. However, first let me ask you if you feel the players with no symptoms that test positive should be allowed to play or should they be isolated? If they should be isolated then how in good conscience can those that attended mass events where they were likely to be infected walk amongst the general population just because they don’t get tested regularly? I don’t disagree with you, I am just at a loss.

My response would be that those who attend an event do so with the understanding of the risks they take by attending. If you are a healthy young adult who wears a mask and is vaccinated, I would presume that the risks of getting seriously ill from attending a game with a large audience would be minimal enough to justify attenidng.

Then forfeit. The NBA was very clear about this at the beginning of the season.

Or make it so the players who are out can't play in the games that are postponed when they reschedule. Other teams had to play with G-Leaguers, you guys should too

Usually there is a threshold .
People complaining about the postponement are being selfish and dangerous .

It’s perfectly logical for the bulls to suspend basketball activities . While 90% of their roster are just circulating the virus.

If you can’t understand that you are just a Covid pusher.

I can certainly understand the frustration on behalf of both Sixer and Hornet fans. Having said that, a team missing as many players as the Bulls currently are is unprecedented, even compared to to the Charlotte and Philly situations. Philly was missing what…6 guys at one time? I believe it’s a similar number for the Hornets. Chicago is missing 10! Hell, even replacement players are popping positive.

With that said, it is not at all lost on me that the league probably should have considered postponing games involving those teams too. Had they done it with Philly, the Bulls might not even be getting hit like this to be honest. And that’s why I feel like this is the right move, albeit a bit late.

I agree. However after taking this risk as is your right are you not exposing others to greater risk because of your choice to attend. And again should the a covid positive symptomatic players be allowed to continue playing or be isolated?
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I don't disagree with postponing, but you are correct in that. I would say that the Bulls 'makeup' games should only allow the players who were not on the COVID list and would have been 'eligible to play' this week.

It does a disservice to fairness to say other teams had to play with depleted rosters and lose games without postponing them, but the Bulls will now get games postponed and not made-up until they have all their regulars back and eligible to play.

So if they makeup the game in 1 month or 3 months anyone who was not eligible to play this week would not be eligible to play in those games.

And therein lies the compromise. The only way to ensure that you are not exposed to the virus is to stay isolated from the public. Somewhere between staying inside, and letting it rip is the solution. I don't think there is a convincing argument to shut down again, after two years of living with this virus, a vaccine, and of course therapeutics to treat severe illness.

I believe if you test positive for Covid, you should isolate. This does not mean a shut down of non-essential activities is a reasonable measure to take at this point in the pandemic.

I mostly agree. But the problem is this new variant appears to be way more infectious regardless of vaccination. So it is an near certainty that there will be spread amongst the crowd at events. And since vaccinated people a likely to have few/mild symptoms the will likely not be tested and unknowingly spread this to the unvaccinated population who will over-run the emergency rooms once again. Now folks might say that is their own fault, however folks need both vaxxed and unvaccinated need health services for things other than covid…and around we go.

It seems like the decisions will be made on a case by case basis. Silver and the league didn't explain their thought process to avoid setting the precedent needed for cancellations.

Actually no I don’t understand their frustration.
They are not involved in the bulls postponements .

They're already playing...Only people who show symptoms are being tested unless there are confirmed cases on your team.
