Bringing up guys like KAT and even worse Gobert is just dumb. The casuals(majority of people voting) want to see that flashiness and wings like Wiggins in the game for the excitement. The game was made for fans, and they got who they wanted in the game. The fact that the other two weren't even close placing 6th and 7th on the weighted scale should be enough explanation.
the thing is even for casuals wiggins is not more entertaining than kat or gobert who have some serious arsenal of skillsets for 7 foot big. what is even wiggins know for? spot up 3s??? this guys never improved gs just banned him touching the ball so he is not showing any weakness. the media is just ridiculous every they claim wiggins and gary payton became stars when they are merely pawns for curry. wake me up if kuminga, wiseman becomes a star.

I think the popular vote for Zaza was from his Georgian homeland rather than a GSW thing/in any way orchestrated by GSW.

Curry is indeed multi-faceted if he can simultaneously be over-rated himself (according to your fairly constant refrain) yet make scrubs look like all stars capable of taking GSW to their very good current record.

You've named three players that you place in the same category as Wiggins and describe them as "important role" players and "high impact players" but not worthy of being All-Star starters.
The players you named averaged 7ppg, 11.2ppg and 9.8ppg respectively and none of them ever averaged in a single season Wiggins career average of 19.4ppg.
Can you name a player in that category that averaged near what Wiggins does that was never named an All-Star starter?

50 years from now there's gonna be widescale coastal flooding, higher frequency of hurricanes, and wildfires threatening entire areas due to escalating climate change. You might have entire NBA arenas become unplayable for entire stretches of season, or make entire NBA teams unavailable to participate. They might look at this era as way stronger because we didn't have to deal with insane weather events. Covid will be a joked compare to what the world will be experiencing in 50 years.

I don't like using career averages because there are definitely players you can name that aren't anywhere near as good as a Wiggins and compare them.
Monta Ellis for example averaged 17.8ppg, 3.5reb, and 4.6asts. I think we'd all agree he wasn't as good as Wiggins is now.
Kemba Walker has career averages of 19.6pts, 3.8rebs, 5.3asts. I'm sure you would never want him to start an All-Star game.
That's just 2 names I could think of right now. I'm sure I could find a few others.
There's also more to impact then just PPG. Those guys I named were insanely important to each of their respective teams championship runs. Those teams likely don't win rings without those players.
I think Wiggins is more like 4 time All-Star Shawn Marion, who, if I remember correctly, never started an all star game. Correct me if I'm wrong on that. But he averaged 15.2pts, 8.7rebs, and 1.9 asts while playing lockdown defense and doing the other little things that helps his team win games. But I still don't think Wiggins should be an All-Star Starter. He definitely was a strong candidate for a reserve player though.

Great call. Paul Pierce is the better player between the two as well. I haven't looked at the numbers, but Ray Allen might be on this list as well. But not sure.

The day wiggins box metrics look like peak Horce Grant is the day I support him for all nba. But I don't see him ever getting close.

Just fanning the fire.
Wiggins is not yet in his prime can improve Lebron is getting older plus along with Paul George and Leonard are now injury prone.
Plus GS popularity can future all star starts

So you're telling me more Dubs fans supported Wiggins over Draymond? I thought these true bloods were all loyal to the soil?

You think this is bad? Wait until nerds perfect their neural network to automate All-Star voting. And hack into the system too.
Then the West AS starting lineup will be the GSW starting lineup.

Draymond's player west front court rank = 3, media west front court rank rank = 4
Draymond is thankful that so many people want him to be an All Star Starter instead of Wiggins. So much love!

Wait there are people on this board who unironically think Wiggins should be a starter?
The difference between a starter and just making the all-star team is pretty big....basically arguing Wiggins is a top 3 frontcourt in the West player, which is kind of hilarious.
