question to ncaa experts

other than studying there, what exactly makes someone become a fan of a team like duke, NC state or UNC?

like do these teams have some specific identity from each other? or is more of a " i loved them that time in the final four so i became a fan" thingh?

I remember years ago when Eric Berry (all pro Safety for the Chiefs) tore his during a night game. Looked exactly the same. Hopefully its just a cramp. To come all this way and get to play in the Final Four would suck.

Odd timing given Justin Moore just Shredded his Achilles.

He turned back looking for a foul after it popped. Thought he was kicked from behind. If that's not a complete tear, he's still done for the year.

Pretty much both Houston and Nova just got eliminated in this game. It sure as hell looked like Moore tore his achilles. Nova isnt winning it all without him. So I think whoever wins between Miami vs Kansas makes it to the Final.

Arkansas stinks. No shooters and they’re undersized. This will be an easy victory for Duke.

Like I said the last couple of games. Duke already beat the better version of Arkansas when they beat TTU. Very similar teams, its just that TTU is the better version.

Mark Williams arguably has been the best player of the tournament so far.

Duke is winning it all. No team has their combination of talent, size, and depth. And they’re on a mission to win it all for Coach K. Plus in typical Duke fashion, they get all the calls from the officials when they need em .

This will be a Cinderella ride for Coach K and ESPN can’t get enough of it.

Too much talent for Duke over Arkansas. Add in K is coaching like young K, Arkansas really needed a perfect game to win.

Coach K’s coaching like he’s 50 again. Too bad he couldn’t do this in the Zion season.

Yup. K rolled back the clocks to start the tournament, he is actually coaching again and its great to see. No longer is he just rolling the ball out there and hoping having a talent advantage will be good enough to win in March. Sadly that is what he has been doing for quite sometime (including the Zion team). Great to not see that happening this year.

I’m just really hoping he’s got a good plan for UNC. I don’t think I could take another game like the last one, especially in the final four.

Roach being in the starting lineup will be a nice change. Duke rolled UNC the first time. The biggest thing is Duke cant really throw in the zone change on defense against UNC because of their ability to shoot.

But with K coaching like he is coaching so far in the tournament, Im feeling pretty damn confident at the moment.

The people at Turner have to be living in cloud 9 right now. Here are the two options for next week for them

Duke vs UNC: the biggest rivalry in the sport, the first time K will face UNC in the tournament

Duke vs St Peters: it is pretty much the ultimate David vs Goliath storyline. The first ever 15 seed to make the Final Four and have a chance to send K home.

Either way it will be ratings galore for them.

As a kid, baby blue was my favorite color, and I grew up during the Jordan NBA era, so its as simple as that for me. As I grew older, I just stuck with it, partly because of it being part of my childhood, and partly because our own DI school has never really done anything of significance in my lifetime (Minnesota). I root for the U of M, but I can't say I have an allegiance to them or anything.

North Carolina has to beat St. Peter’s first, who is playing better than everyone in the tournament not named Duke… and considering Carolina is not a great defensive team, they could easily lose this. Which I know Duke fans are rooting for. Duke would likely blow St. Peter’s out due to their lack of size.
