Man, I can hardly wait to hear him brag about how humble he is.

Weren’t you calling him a stat padder in another thread?
Now you’re saying if he’s passive, they’ll lose. Make up your mind man

Can't wait. Such a great moment.
The fact he's 4th all-time in assists is even more impressive imo but passing Kareem is certainly a historic moment for the sport.

Re: 89 the countdown. The last stretch
With Davis healthy and Rui in the lineup I'd expect slight decrease in scoring but nothing too crazy.

Re: 89 the countdown. The last stretch
It’s strange when lebron came into the league (2003). Scoring was way down. We all remember the 2005 nba finals where the team that got to 80 points won the game.
Lebron was not known as a scorer when he came into the league. More of a facilitator. Sure he scored a lot. But leading the league in scoring was never the goal for him
Just he’s been healthy for most of his career until the last seasons with the lakers.

Re: 89 the countdown. The last stretch
It's safe to say that Lebron will end up getting it on a home game at this point; Either against the Thunder or the Bucks. Highly unlikely he scores over 63 against the Pels on Saturday, and the pace indicates either of the 2 games after, pretty comfortably. Of course he might miss a game which would change everything, and it would probably make the Lakers @ Warriors game Sat 2/11 the most expensive regular season game of all time in terms of ticket prices ....

Lebron should maximize his scoring vs Pels to get the countdown under 30 vs Thunder which is much easier game to win compared the Bucks.

7 of their next 8 games are national TV games... The NBA did a pretty good job of getting the timing right to make sure they cash in on his record breaking night. Always looked like it was most likely going to happen in February. He's right on track.

Re: 89 the countdown. The last stretch
What if he decided to do it at the Warriors? It would be huge since it's a top2 rivalry of his career, and he actually molded the modern game along with Curry.
How would the GSW fans react? Would they embrace it, or maybe actually boo him? Or simply lukewarm?
It would be historic as hell, even more than vs the Bucks.
I actually don't think people will remember if he won or lost the game.

Re: 63 the countdown. The last stretch
With 26 points this now puts Lebron at 38,325 points. Just 63 away from breaking the record. With the way scoring has been going this year this record could be broken in the next game 4 games. I doubt either of those though. I'm guessing in LA vs either OKC or Milwaukee.
Kareem - 38,387
LeBron - 38,325
Next game sat Feb 4th 8pm est @New Orleans Pelicans. ESPN2

Total wish casting here but I want him to break the record scoring on Giannis. I hope the Freak doesn't play along and let it be an easy bucket either

lol i also like that not scoring 63 points would be considered "being passive"
