I sincerely hope the top three guys don't sit the remaining games against each other. Those are must-watch and the networks should most definitely flex them into primetime.

And agreed that between last season and this season, the MVP races are incredibly close and reminiscent of the 1987 and 1990. Three all-time level players at their apex.

Stephen A and Perkins teaming up in favor of Emvpbiid

Wow, Jokic is finished. Only Zach Lowe and his secret cabal of influencers can stop this.

He did try last week when he turned talking about Jokic being terrible on defense into an Embiid rant

Down the stretch it’s between Jokic, Embiid, and Giannis.
Depends on how they and their teams perform for the last 14 games.

Jokic still ahead but the gap is narrowing.

Emvpiid and Jokic are controversial players to be fair.

Want to say Embiid will win MVP and he should win but they prolly end up giving it to Tatum or something.. harden didn't even make the all star game but I know voters Gon find a way to say Embiid has harden on his team and underrate Browns impact in Boston

If this nuggets streak continues, Jokic will rightfully lose his lead. I know people hate on recency bias but these games matter just as much as the first few months.

63/41/81 mind boggling line.

Probably comes down to who performs best in the head to head match ups down the stretch. Hope guys who rest those matches are punished by the voters

Giannis 22-2 in his last 24 games.

All 3 MVP frontrunners face off against eachother in the next several weeks. It could come down to the wire, as these games will see these guys go head to head.

And they're all big men and none of them are North American which I'm sure the talking heads probably don't like. They're thankful that Embiid plays for the Philly market otherwise they really would be moaning or lobbying hard for Tatum to win it.

Now you are trying too hard. Getting diminishing returns. The art of trolling is more subtle. Common mistake.

His defense looks terrible tonight, and he just can't get them a bucket when they need it.

I think it’s time to have the East vs West in the equasion:
Bucks vs West: 20-5
Celtics vs West: 18-6
Sixers vs West: 19-7
Nuggets vs East: 14-9

The East leads the West by quite some margin I believe and the top teams in the East do much better against the West than Denver does against the East (certainly if they lose tonight).

In general the defense is much weaker in the West. It gives some perspective on the ‘historic’ season Jokic has on offense.

If current trends continue, Embiid will take the lead (assuming Giannis sits more). Coach Malone and Jamal Murray are completely tanking for Denver. It seems Murray is not healthy but is playing.

Feel bad for Jokic but guys get hurt (as has happened to Denver the last 3 years), and coaches have to get the job done.

Was it weaker last year when most of the contenders were in the West and Jokic put up his historic season as well?

What is this breakdown when you look at contenders vs. contenders (unless we're interested in their records vs. bottom feeders as well)? What about when Giannis/Jokic/Embiid/Tatum actually play (given that Giannis has missed 15 games already it's a bit more analysis for you to do).

MVP voters have a hard time giving MVP to someone who spends so much time in a suit on a bench. One MVP has missed > 10 games in the last 45 years (11 games missed).

Most of the contenders were in the East last year too.

The East is top-heavy. 7 of the 10 favorites to win it all are in the West - remember your Vegas odds from last year :) ?

How is each of our MVP candidates doing against the top 5 teams in opposing conference (in games that they play in)?

Congrats to Joel Embiid.

Jamal Murray has served you up your first MVP.

It's not over yet, but it's looking good. As Denver keeps tanking, and Giannis is sitting.
