If history has taught us anything, Luka usually gets injured or extremely fatigued around the all star break. I'll reserve my vote until then :D

So for me it's still Jokic at the top then it's whoever... way too small of a sample size.

Jokic.........4-0
Luka..........3-0
Tatum........3-0

If the Magic lose tonight, those will be the only unbeaten teams in the league.

If Embiid is going to average what he's averaging now statistically for the whole season while playing enough games, the MVP is deservedly his, unless somebody is doing even better.

There is zero excuse to give it to somebody else in that case. His impact on winning in the regular season is undeniable and his playoff woes should be counted only if it's very close between him and his closest MVP candidate rival imo.

Embiid shouldn't be penalized for the voters' mistake of putting him in the 1st place last year, instead of 2nd place. It was not a gigantic fail by the voters anyway, he was after all a top 2 regular season player last season.

There is nothing Embiid can do that would make him more deserving than Jokic though.

this is actually a pretty hillarious scenario.
the couple of posters who were constantly pushing Embiid, opening threads etc., their main (convoluted) argument as to why Jokic shouldn't win his back to back MVP was that he hasn't accomplished enough in the postseason

despite being told a billions times that MVP was a rs award, they remained adamant in their stance

wouldn't it be hillarious if Embiid has a great year and we'll get to see those same posters clamoring for Embiid to win back to back, despite obviously accomplishing nothing in the PS?

I think that'd be pretty funny, i'd like to see it personally haha

They will obviously just say that you can win 2 without having much playoff success. Which will/would be hilarious on its own, yeah, but you know it's coming.

Luka is at the top in the moment. He’s putting up amazing numbers and they’re undefeated.

Grant Williams has been a great addition to that Mavs team and i'm not surprised Luka pointed out his importance on that good start from his team.

I don't know, with the effortless way Jokic is dominating the game, it's hard to see him not winning it, Mavs had a very soft schedule, and played down to their opponents in all 3 games, like last year, the difference this time is that they closed well.

Luka gets a 50 triple double - jokic has his worst game statistically of the year and Denver wins by 20…

If Klay wasnt actually done I would have only the Nuggets above the Warriors in the West but he is and unfortunately Wiggins (aka going through the motions) likes being a teams #3 or #4 best player because there are no expectations or pressure.

Can’t believe Klay is done...his shooting should make him relevant as he ages and with Wigs and Kuminga covering the toughest defensive assignments, you would think Klay could play at a high level for years to come...but he looks COOKED

Klay isn't actually cooked. He's mad inconsistent, but that was sorta always his style. When he's rhythm, then he's automatic, last 2 games he's been great. Last season was his first full season, so his legs was completely gone by the lakers series.

Plus he still gets guarded like curry, so he still has a huge impact offball.

So let me get this straight. You'd admit that Luka is currently playing better, for an award that looks at this regular season and this regular season only, and your vote goes to Jokic for something that may or may not happen?

RealGM, never change.
