He probably will never be an iron man, but I think he can do 10+ seasons of 70+ games, which is fine in the modern NBA now that load managing is fairly accepted.

As a fan, I hope he's able to stay healthy for a long time. He's fun to watch, particularly when he isn't just bombing 9 3s a game. Dude is super talented, and not JUST tall.

This is probably the season he attacks the rim more, so let's see.

Honestly, Im less worried about the rim. He can get short middies with a single step out of triple threat from the 3pt line, and he has a handle. Working the baseline and the elbow will help his consistency.

I imagine you're referring to how the team is better this year, though, right? And how that should open more space and sets where he can be off-ball and get all the way more regularly.

It's the nature of the sport. Durability is an important ability, you know?

Roy was injured before he started. Yao had too many overseas obligations, so there was some degree of "we all knew this was coming" with him as well. Grant Hill had a freak injury that destroyed his stardom, though he managed to play a long time after that and had a nice renaissance in Phoenix as a roleplayer.

Wemby shoots a lot of jumpers. A LOT of 3s. If he can find a nice balance between the faceup game and the perimeter game, he should theoretically be okay if his feet hold up.

That was my thought until the health scare last year, which sort have came out of nowhere. I just think being that freakishly tall is almost like weighing over 500 lbs, it puts a hell of a strain on the body and organs as human beings were simply not meant to be of those proportions.

I feel like advances in medical science can maybe give him an advantage over even what someone like Yao had from about 15 years ago. Maybe Wemby should pull a LeBron and Brady and start spending a mil a year on his body when he gets financially comfortable enough.
