Some of you dummies are defending jokic because it was the suns' owner.

Jokic would've been suspended if this was just any other fan for altercation with a fan, regardless if he held onto the ball or not.

Some of you guys are stupid af.

Naw if it was any other fan they would have been tossed and Jokic wouldn't even get a T.
They even tossed some other fan they saw on replay who put his hand on Jokic
Ishbia put his hand on him too. Jokic has a right to clear his personal space and get stranger's hands off him. He was just waiting for the ball so he could play the game, and he should have already had the ball if Ishbia wasn't so entitled.

Simple question, if the ball bounced to you courtside and Jokic tried to retrieve it from you, would you give it to him or try to fight him for it like you were in the game tying him up for a jump ball?

The situation hopefully is a lot more clear when you put it in these terms.
Why wouldn't a "fan" just give the ball to the player?
Obviously because this wasn't a fan. This was the owner, who demanded a midseason trade for KD, and now desperately wants them to win this series so he doesn't look like an ass. He saw an opportunity to help "his" team by slowing Denver down, but imo he took it too far.
He should have just thrown a bad pass to the ref or something clever. Trying to fight Jokic for the ball was dumb as hell let's be honest

what are the rules on that? should he have just let go.....yeah probably but how often does a player go over and yank the ball away like that? again what is the precedent?

He didn't "deliberately enter the spectator stands during the game" though.
He walked over to retrieve the ball to resume play.
Your argument is already flawed in the first few words of the rule you are citing.

So he was not in the first row is what you are saying? Was he on the court? Was he levitating? Where was he if not at the first row? Did the fan walk on to the court? Did he rush the fan yes or no?

No, Ishbia didn’t “wrestle” the ball from 6’11 300 lb Jokic. Nor did Jokic “elbow” Ishbia or “go into the stands.” It was the smallest of shoves and not a big deal.

So much drama over nothing.

Jokic went into the stands to get the ball. Jokic elbowed Ishbia in the throat.

So spectators are allowed to withold the ball from players (game officials too?) and also put hands on them as long as it's just "barely"?

Does this apply to mascots and other team personnel too, since that is more akin to what Ishbia is?
Like, if a team needs a timeout but is out of timeouts, can the team mascot steal the ball for a minute and run around with it while the PA plays the Benny Hill theme song, and then if they get bumped by a player in the process the mascot can flop and get that player suspended also?

If fans could get involved, chaos would break out.
