again again again, this is why there are rules about fans coming on to the court and as many rules about players going into the stands. Its very simple, don't contact fans. I consider what he did contacting a fan. There are no dead ball exceptions I am aware of. And right or wrong on the owner, maybe he was wrong for holding the ball or at a minimum in bad taste but there is no arguing what Jokic did was wrong period.

If it had been a few more rows up and jokic hopped over some seats to get the ball everyone would be calling Jokic out of him out of his mind but because it was the first row it was ok? Stay out of the fan area ESPECIALLY hostile fan area unless it a live ball.

You’ve done an epic job of twisting around what happened (when it’s on video)

You should write political speeches or something - very impressive stuff

might work better for you to explain what and how I am twisting what happened instead of making baseless declarations and personal attacks chief.

Everything i say or said is based on the reality of what happened your personal dislike of the facts wont change that.

Was not meant to be a personal attack...was actually a backhanded compliment but anyways...

You consider it 'contacting a fan' when the fan made initial contact. Further, the fan attempted to hijack the ball like the terrorists did in Executive Decision.

DEN had no choice. They are not a hot FA destination so they couldn't let him just walk for nothing
He was a restricted free agent. They could have waited a year and matched any contract for him

Jokers huge games keeps going to waste. This guy is playing unbelievable right now and he’s not getting enough help. How you put up 53 and still lose??? Their defense number 1 has been a let down

serious question if someone walks over to you and tries to snatch something from your hands/arms you wouldn't consider that contact and you try to hold onto it you would say you were the one that made initial contact.

How is that even a fair question? If I'm a fan sitting courtside I throw the ball back immediately and don't hold it like he did...can you imagine if every fan did that? This is called entitlement because he's an owner.

Its a pretty simple answer, what you are doing is attempting to qualify it to spin a narrative. Its a yes or no question, not a trick question. It doesnt matter if he was holding Jokics newborn son, Jokic made contact first yes or no. Grabbing something out of someone's hand is initiating contact yes or no?

See you realgm guys are funny you will just cling to something completely illogical when presented with facts. It really is a microcosm of how jacked up the human psyche is. Just admit he touched him first and he was wrong! Thats it!

The owner shouldn't have done what he did, but two wrongs don't make a right. The owner was wrong, ban him forever, make him sell the team but it doesn't change that Jokic was wrong to do what he did. He crossed a line and It doesn't change what happened. Fine him a dollar, or a penny, or not at all and move on, its not about the consequences it's just about facts and the rules as laid out by the player code of conduct.

This is like when players leave the bench and get suspended and fans try to twist things 100 times sideways to justify why they shouldn't get punished. Well dur errr the other team did A and B and C so that equals no suspension for my guys!

Well no they still left the bench and that is a violation no matter the circumstances leading up to it.

Denver Post columnist on Jokic vs Ishiba.
https://www.denverpost.com/2023/05/07/nikola-jokic-mat-ishbia-game-4-suspension-suns-nuggets-kiszla/

Kiszla: Nikola Jokic and Suns owner tussle. A suspension is in order. Mat Ishbia should be sat in a corner until he learns how to behave at playoff game.

The Suns owner inserted himself into the fray after Jokic blocked a shot and the ball bounced off Phoenix guard Josh Okogie and into the hands of Ishbia, who bounced up from his seat along the baseline.

...

He consulted with Thomas before they exited through a door together, a notorious Bad Boy from the Pistons’ glory years and 43-year-old spoiled brat who thinks he’s enough part of the game to bait Jokic into a technical foul.

If anybody deserves punishment from the NBA in this silly tussle between the Nuggets center and the Suns owner, it’s Ishbia, the petulant child who started it all.

Put Gordon on Book and give help, KCP (and maybe some Brown) on KD and only help at the rim, stay home on everyone else as much as possible, and live with the results.
Book is on effing fire right now, but that's what I'd do.
I feel like Jokic going off is more sustainable than Book & KD, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. Definitely not in a 3-game series.

Durant gives Jokic (and Murray) his flowers.

One thing about this series is that there's been little trash talk. Just a hard-fought series with two excellent teams.

What are you even talking about bro?
You think literally any touch of a player and fan is an automatic suspension?
Not an insult or anything but are you autistic per chance? That is an extremely literal interpretation of the rule.
Players high five fans and dive into the stands all the time.

Its a very bad precedent if Jokic gets suspended. We should get Dolan to harass Jimmy Butler and hope Butler punches him out or something.

Owners are still fans. They are not free to do whatever they want. Players need to be protected too.

Yea I agree Mat Ishbia should be punished. A technical was already sufficient punishment for Jokic.
