I agree, Kobe is a elite at creating offensive rebounding opportunities for LA bigs, how is that not being team orientated?

Who the hell is Jared Rudolph?

A close friend of Dwight who speaks to him on a regular basis...

GoldenKnight wrote:What does it matter if Kobe is a team player or not? He has 5 rings and 2 Finals MVPs, he obviously did something right in his career. Haters can say all they want but the proof is there. If LeBron or Durant had 5 rings and Kobe had 1, then you could say something. I don't see anyone discrediting LeBron for his ring after ditching Cleveland where he promised to win a ring, then pairing with 2 all-stars. Nobody would discredit Durant for having Westbrook & Harden if he won it all. Haters only apply this to Kobe. Kobe averages about 5 ast per game, Durant averages about 3. So don't come to me with that selfish crazy talk.

Exactly. It's sad how desperate these Kobe haters are to go to great lengths to ALWAYS try to discredit anything and everything he's accomplished. He's proved them wrong time after time and still gets no props. He's led the Lakers in assists for MANY years, yet he's selfish. They say he doesn't make his teammates better but they all rave about his work ethic and Kobe helping them in practice. They say he's not a leader yet he's always very vocal not only on the court, but on the sidelines in timeouts as well. They complain about him throwing his teammates like Gasol under the bus this year, but conviently forget him taking up for Bynum in this video against a reporter this year after a poor first half against the Nuggets (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZixEKZg_Bs) When he shoots too much, he's selfish, doesn't get his teammates involved. When he doesn't shoot enough, he quits on his team, and lets them lose. It's hilarious the logic people use when it comes to Kobe. Selective memory at it's finest to fit their agenda.

Anyway, sorry back on topic. I understand the Lakers not wanting to trade for Howard without and extension, but i'd try it. I can't see him leaving the Lakers after a year. Say what you want about Kobe, but he knows when to tone it down or when to change his game up more than anyone, as evidenced by the 3rd against the spurs this year. Make Dwight leave LA. But still like someone said, if by Feb. he still isn't convinced to sign longer, trade him somewhere else, he'd still have value

they would still lack depth unless adding Howard brings a too rush of effective ring chasers

nah i'd trade Pau to Houston for Royce White, Kyle Lowry, and maybe Kevin Martin? I don't like Scola at ALL lol. We need depth and some shooters. Get Dorrell Wright whom Golden State doesn't want anymore, TPE for Beasley and let's go to work!

Or is this a bad idea lol?

Only disagree on 1 thing, Pat Patterson is the Houston PF we need to target. If Mitch can get Royce White too even better.. Shard for the minimum would also be a really good fit with Dwight now that it won't cost 200M to pair them up

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA
For Kris Humphries to stay with Nets, he would have to accept the veteran's minimum salary and that isn't happening. So consider him gone.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA
Sorry for confusion on last tweet: Jason Kidd -- not Humphries --- would have to take veteran's minimum to sign with Nets.

There is a huge monetary loss for Dwight if he goes to Atlanta in FA. We're talking about the money in FA and possibly a halved shoe deal not to mention other endorsements. When the money is in question, you know where you want to go.

If the Lakers get Dwight, wonder what would be best fit for him if they trade Gasol.

Wolves Deal - Derrick Williams for spacing, but small
Rockets Deal - Point guard help
Hawks Deal - Josh Smith, Howard BF

LA must keep Pau..Pau will make Dwight a much better player, and vice versa...

There is a major issue here. Dwight's endorsements are dwarfed in Atlanta or another FA destination. The only issuing remaining for Dwight to the Lakers is that of beating Brooklyn's deal. Frankly I think Bynum-Howard beats their deal.

The issue isn't whether Orlando prefers LA's deal or not, its whether Dwight will accept to resign with the team...

If it's true that Dwight's endorsements are essentially doubled in L.A. or NY as opposed to Orlando/Atlanta etc walking in FA from L.A. could cost him over a 100m.
