Kind of hard to imagine writing an article just to announce you are staying on a 1 + 1 deal but then again maybe that is Durant's thing. Does he then write a second article next year?

^Less chance, I think you mean zero chance. To me it's not even debatable barring injury Steph/Klay/Green/Durant if they can at least retain Iggy is racking up guaranteed chips and NOBODY else even has a chance. These guys are in their peak prime, this isn't tail end prime D Wade.

It doesn't really matter what "people" say. It matters what Durant does.

If this happens.....

Just can't imagine Durant joining the Heat over the Celtics let alone the Warriors or Thunder. Guess we'll find out tomorrow though.

Wow. Well if anything the mental gymnastics made here to justify a top-3 player (and top-3 for 6 years or so, with some people arguing him being the best player as well at some point) moving to a 73-9 superteam, after that team beating them from 3-1 down with you being the big reason why, compared to what happened in 2010, just make it that much more obvious to me that Lebron is the BOAT at the very least.

It is from a basketball perspective. Much better chance at winning rings in OKC and GS while Boston seems to have a more stable situation than the Heat with Bosh, Wade, etc.

If it's all about money (despite his endorsements raking in enough to compensate) and living the Miami beach life, sure though.

gustofwind wrote:One comment: the idea of keeping competition alive is not about simply OKC and GSW, it's about the fans. The fans want to be able to root for a team that has a chance at winning. If one team has a complete monopoly on winning, to the point of erasing all competition for a championship, other fans lose out. This one of many reasons I would view Durant's actions if he joined GSW to be selfish.

In the end it's true that's just my two cents. But, for the record, in the poll I posted over 60% of posters agreed it would be "disgusting" if Durant joined the Warriors. Not bad, literally "disgusting." So this won't be the last time you hear complaints if Durant joins. Just sayin'.

Warriors would be like the Steinbrenner New York Yankees except the Steinbrenner New York Yankees did not have a salary cap making them get rid of good players to sign the best players. Also much of the nation had made peace with Yankees dominance from the history of Yankees dominance so the Yankees seemed to have as many fans outside New York as they had haters.

Warriors fans may have to embrace the Warriors being hated just like the Pistons fans embraced the bad boy Pistons being hated.

Even if the Warriors get Durant the Warriors and Durant had better get plenty of rest before the playoffs, The Warriors looked burned out in the playoffs and Klay Thompson, Draymnd Geen and Durant are playing on team USA. I hope Durant does not expect 70 wins.

LeBron only teamed up with other stars; he didn't join an already historically dominant team. The equivalent would be LeBron joining the Lakers that year.

I know some disagree, but to me the difference between the two situations is light years apart.

Yep.

I know it's 6 years ago but man that makes KD look bad if he goes to Golden State.

He would probably be the best banana boat as well if he put his mind into it, I agree.

Man... if KD joins GS, I'd probably stop caring about the NBA.

I think if Durant leaves then the team he is going to will have convinced him that they will get Westbrook too.

Maybe they are waiting to see Durants decision before signing Wade. I'm sure if they knew they had no chance at Durant they'd give Wade his money by now. I don't see any rationale for joining the heat but maybe Durant does.

I think the Spurs make the most sense. A core of Durant, Aldridge and Leonard is as good as anyone's.

Apparently Richard Jefferson just said on snapchat that KD is going to the warriors. I don't have snapchat, I can't link anyone. But just type Richard Jefferson in a Twitter search and you'll see several screen shots

Not that his word is final, but it's a piece among many pieces in a puzzle that would leave me legitimately shocked at this point if he went back to the thunder. There are just too many signs pointing golden states way
