Been saying a lot of what they said for awhile now for Knox. Even his mechanics comparisons I've said for awhile now. Klay Thompson-esque.

I'm looking forward to seeing how miles Bridges settles in with the Hornets. Hes an intriguing player. If marv or mkg go down he gets a green light

Mile Bridges may be the surprise of the draft. He’s one of a few players in the mid part of the draft who might end up being the very best player of the draft..

I really, really like Knox...definitely a sleeper for ROTY especially since he'll get a ton of attention & support from the NY faithful.

I feel for NY fans with how miserable things have been thanks to Dolan, it should be nice to see/hear what MSG will be like when Knox & KP start developing together (and who knows maybe that will entice certain FAs...).

My not-so-sleeper picks are Doncic or Jaren Jackson.

Favor to the Suns?

In the NBA's annual survey, this year's rookie class picked Deandre Ayton and Collin Sexton as the favorites to take home the 2018-19 Rookie of the Year award.

Both Ayton and Sexton got 18 percent of the vote. Luka Doncic and Kevin Knox finished tied for third, with nine percent.VLast year, the rookies picked Dennis Smith Jr. as the favorite. Sexton will likely start the season coming off the bench behind George Hill. Ayton is expected to be the Suns starting center on opening night.

Doncic is being fully disrespected by fellow rookie peers. I don't think they have the knowledge to understand that Euroleague is better than the NCAA.

Not really about disrespect - they just vote for the people they know/their friends. They're not analysts.

I’m surprised more people don’t have Giles. Getting to practice for a whole year with your team and focus only on your game and body versus going to school is a huge advantage.

When people say it’s not fair they have a valid point.

They also tend to vote for guys that are eye-catching athletes. They're more memorable and tend to stand out as special, harder to see someone as a future conqueror when they're mostly just executing well and playing a modest skill game.

They don't. That sort of stuff definitely does help--but it also helps to actually play against good competition in real NCAA or euroleague games, to go full speed in practice for a year, to work out at full bore with coaches for a full year, etc. It doesn't make any sense to say that sitting for a year (and being fully injured and off your feet for months within that) is clearly a better thing than being healthy and playing, practicing, lifting, etc for a year. It's not a 'wasted' year but it's not obviously better than not playing at all. (There's also no history of that being a significant advantage, ppl just seem to be plucking one or two examples that had good rookie seasons after sitting out and ignoring the others.)

But people also forget to discuss the negatives too.

A year away from competitive basketball, the actual injury that kept you out for a year etc.

Practicing against NBA players even in practice is an advantage over playing against college players. Particularly when someone like ZBo is mentoring you every morning. ZBo has forgotten more about post play than most college assistants know.

The Kings' front court is rather crowded.

If Giles is as good as I think he is, Skal and Koufos shouldn't be an impediment to him getting minutes.
