Funny thing is, Nurse said they played pretty poorly defensively. Made many mistakes that GSW didn't take advantage of (not just missed shots, but incorrect reads from the Warrior players)

Raps are gonna have to play better in game 2

Would not be surprised to see Bogut or cousins start.

I can also see them out Looney on Pascal more.

Even when you feel they played great D, limited shots, forced TOV.

Prime example of what it looks like to “beat you in so many ways”. The Raps got killed in transition and on the boards. The Warriors deadly transition attack has been talked about for years. They won the 15 finals with it, and it's a very real part of defending them.

I will say I was impressed with Toronto’s half court defense but that’s just not enough.

They are pretty damn good Offensively. It is an offense that strikes real fear into teams. Houston got scared and panicked, Portland got scared and panicked. I am pretty sure the Raptor Crowd in the back of their minds were worried of any run by Warriors. The Warriors Offense showed a little bit of everything. I know I was tense, a 10 point lead can quickly be erased....

BUT..... Game 1 Stats was a good sign that the Raptors can hang with their transition offense just as much as their half court offense. Of course the Raptors dont want to play with fire, they will make more attempts to try to slow the game down.

If Iggy is playing the raps need to test that calf out . Give him a love tap here and there on it. Make him work

I'd be very surprised. Raps haven't been blown out at home in months.

Raps in 4 or 5 easy. Warriors don't have enough talent without KD to score and can't guard the Raps.

Sixers and Bucks were better than these dudes without KD.

Raptors defense improves as the series goes on. GSW is going to need some legendary games from their stars. Its possible but very difficult against an elite defense. Something they aren't used to facing over 7 games. If the Raptors can hold here in game 2, the series could be over in 5. GSW could also smack them down in Game 2 so we'll see how they can adjust

Gasol will continue to be very effective as long as KD isn't on the court. If KD comes back, Gasol becomes a liability.

Gasol is too smart to ever be a liability on the defensive end.

But yea KD makes things a little more complicated.

Raptors HAVE to win game 2. I see Kawhi and Lowry stepping up offensively and Norm Powell to also bring some more energy

Ya he’s smart. But I’m thinking if/when the warriors go steph/klay/iggy/KD/Dray, you can’t play Gasol.

On the 2nd day after the game I was starting to worry about this. A 9pt game and Siakam and Gasol went off. Started to feel closer than it looked watching the game.

But then I re-watched the game and it reaffirmed the feeling I had when watching - while the raps were never quite able to pull away, it was still a pretty comfortable victory. GSW kept trying to make runs but the raps answered every one. After watching again I do think the score was probably a bit flattering to the warriors.

That being said, I expect a MUCH better warriors team tonight, and the raps better play even better than game 1 if they want to win this one.

Don't mind this troll everybody, the Raptors gotta play with a must win mentality for game 2, you just know the Warriors are gonna show that championship mettle and come out guns blazing.

Yeah I'm not as confident for this one, but I still think it will be a close game regardless of who wins.

Well, they did hold them to below their season average and won by 9 so that's pretty good.

My point is more that the Warriors missed plenty of good shots, weren't sharp offensively, and still scored 109. Don't get me wrong, I think the Raps defense was very good and deserves plenty of credit, but this quoting the Warriors half court Ortg as if the Raps can hold the Warriors to 80 points is ridiculous. Missed quality shots are still quality shots. Offensive rebounds for extra possessions count. Transition baskets still count,

The Raps are an excellent defensive team, but when the Warriors get it going, they can impose their will even against an excellent defense.
If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

They would stick him on Iggy until Iggy shows he can make a 3.

They put Gasol on Tobias Harris and it actually worked some how. Gasol knows how to position really well and takes up a lot of space at the same time.

Warriors likely won’t make Gasol unplayable in this series
