I think the wear and tear for the teams that played deep in the bubble playoffs is real. The Lakers are without Lebron and does anyone think AD would be playing in this game if they weren’t worried about the play-in?

I mean...most of Dre's minutes have come against Jokic while most of Gasol's have come against McGee....slight difference there. But yes, Marc hit 2 wide open 3s because Denver isnt guarding him. Give the man a MVP trophy!

He's also a far better passer which they need. Drummond always looking for "His".

Gasol may be a shell of himself but he is a damn smart player that makes winning plays.

Come on, do you really not see how much Laker's spacing and offensive flow looks out there with Gasol instead of Drummond? It's night and day. Gasol actually moves the ball, meanwhile Drummond is a blackhole.

There still in denial.

Gasol has been destroying Jokic on both ends of the floor since he came in. The difference is more than slight given the historical matchups; this is a trend.

I do agree that the way the Lakers are trying to run their offense through Drummond is incredibly dumb. I have absolutely no clue why they aren't using him the way they used McGee & Howard.

We don’t have enough shooting when gasol is out .. he’s going get wide open shots that’s what I have noticed

next year, the Lakers need more of an offensive guy on the staff. Kidd, Hollins, and Vogel are all defensive oriented

Serious question - Is he even possible of being used like McGee or Howard on offense? Has he ever been a vertical threat like that?

Gasol is legit. Yes he's aged, but his IQ, passing and shot (when he shoots) are all high level. TBH I severely miss him on my squad even with his faults.

I think you need to see him in action on your team on a regular basis to grasp this. At least I did. He's just not a player I've ever watched much, and I recall games where we've struggled against him so you wonder if he's got a bad rap. Now that I've seen him a bit, I can confidently say he does not. I still think there's a role for him, but he's definitely not a key piece.

That’s what I’m saying. As a Cavs fan, we and Pistons fans tried explaining to everyone that you have to ignore the box score and actually consistently watch him to realize how detrimental he is to the team. I understand why people aren’t exactly eager to tune into our games though to see that I guess.

That's a big part of it. I watch a metric crap ton of basketball, but the Cavs and Pistons aren't high on my list. Even then, it's just not the same as when you're watching a player on your team. Like my experience of watching Anthony Davis, who I have seen a lot going back to college, is completely different now that he's on my team. With the Pelicans I'm just focusing on how he's murdering us. With the Lakers I'm watching with a much, much more critical eye. It's a totally different experience.

But all that said, you guys were right. And hey, it speaks volumes that Cleveland couldn't even trade him for a draft pick (from what I understand).

That outlet pass was a beauty...no other big man except maybe Jokic can make that pass. Okay...maybe Love too.

I don't vibe with some of the Gasol fanboying but the difference in impact is staggering. By now the same unit would have been looking lost on offense with one of Drummond or Harrell in Gasol's place
