Well we know Brown can't carry a team.....whereas in 2020-21 there was that 10 game stretch Embiid was absent (SAS, NYK, MIL, SAC, @NYK, @GSW, @LAL, @LAC, @DEN, @CLE) and Philly scored 110.6ppg and conceded only 102.8ppg and went 7-3.
Ben will get you 50-60 wins per year, and he dominated the 1st Round of the playoffs with 14.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 9.2 assists, .640fg vs. Washington (and that Washington team was on-fire and dominated the last months of the regular season) and that was the most out-of-form version of Ben Simmons ever.
Also when Ben was a rookie he won 9 games in a row without Embiid, and most of those teams were fighting for playoff positions:
at Atlanta
at Charlotte
vs Brooklyn
at Detroit
vs Cleveland
vs Dallas
at Atlanta
vs Milwaukee
vs Miami (Playoff)
Simmons can't carry a team any better than Brown can. Obviously no team would have them as number one option so we are talking here about teams selecting them as number two option (or if team is a strong contender, number 3 option even). It is very telling that you are talking about past, while I explicitly said "right now". It's very simple really: teams are offered Brown or Simmons, which one they'd pick?
10-game stretch is irrelevant, there are 10-game stretches where every player in the league looked like a superstar.
