Brown in the 6th highest paid player on the Nets, making $4.7MM this year.
THT is the 3rd highest paid player on the Lakers, making $9.5MM this year.
These guys are similar kinds of players, except Brown is asked to do less and there is more supporting cast talent around him.
Brown plays defense, sets screens, makes quick decisions and takes whatever scraps he can get on offense while often playing up a position.
THT is a slasher/scorer who is most effective with the ball in his hands, but he's like Rodney Stuckey at the basket: zero touch. He offers nothing else of real value and I've watched quite a bit of Utah. If his shot isn't falling, he's useless. He takes advantage of his length on offense, but rarely uses it on defense, he doesn't pass, and he's not a good rebounder.
They are not similar at all. Mayyyybe THT develops into a 6th man scoring type. Brown has accepted that his best route to sticking in the league and making good money is by becoming the best damn role player he can be.
I know this is a necro-thread, so don't think I'm trying to tear you apart. You just happened to be the first convenient quotable post that I came upon.Dr Aki wrote:Just don't force him to shoot from 3pt, or drive left, or take a left-handed layup
Great point and something I forgot to mention. Dude goes right every single time. From now on I'm calling him Fat Stacks [in honor of Jerry Stackhouse].
You claim you watch quite alot of Utah but you're also the same guy that said he didn't rate Walker Kessler. Your takes at best, need alot of work young man.
