Or something in-between. To start the season he was supposed to be Zach's relief valve, which was a good spot. Zach hurts his thumb early on and DDR takes over. Covid, Zach hurts his knee and never got it going the rest of the season. Zach also isn't a #1 either. bitt Zach and DDR are at BEST #2's but even in that situation of them co-sharing that role both look better. DDR doesn't need to be a 6th man he is way better than Crawford is in taking a game over on any given night, but he is not #1 either.

Ok #2 offensively overall but even then not ideal because his lack of 3pt shooting limits his usefulness as an off-ball option. And then you add in his weak defense and suddenly you have a guy that for me at least I'd think only suits a depth role.

People that want to hate on Demar... how many times has one of his teammates stepped up to take the number 1 option pressure off him?

Lavine and Vuc were supposed to do that but they were even worse than him. Demar has yet to play with a true number 1 option and has always had too much put on his plate that he cant handle.

Ok? He was facing that in Toronto and San Antonio too...You'd think by now he would have figured something out? Just curious how long the "but he's a nice guy human being" excuse is going to run out. The problem is that he's a second/third option player always being cast as the number one option and he ain't about that life.

He was good for San Antonio in the playoffs actually.
Really was in Toronto that he struggled the most.
Also suggesting he should just "figure out" how to beat a triple team beyond passing it to wide open teammates, which he does, is beyond facile. Even Jordan wasn't just scoring over triple teams every time down the court
Y'all Raps fans and your hatred of Derozan is so weird tbh.

Raptor fans I meet and know in real life love and respect DD for his time with the Raptors. Sadly there is a large amount of mentally deranged Toronto fans on these boards who hate Demar.

Personally I think that these haters self identify so strongly with the team they were unable to emotionally handle the playoff losses and continue to **** on Demar even after winning a championship lol

I'm sure it's just something weird about this board.
I was rooting for Raptors all the way and was very happy for Lowry, Marc Gasol, Danny Green and your fan base when they won it all!
