Not a flagrant, but that could have ended badly. No intent there, as much as people say Giannis had no chance, there are plenty of similar plays where Giannis blocks the **** out of it, if he was a couple of miliseconds earlier, that would have been blocked.

That's simply because they don't reach in or jump to contest. Coaches don't put enough emphasis on these things. They bail the other team out a few times a quarter and just not doing them would help your defense out so much.

Keep your hands to yourself, and don't jump. Congrats, you've just taken away 15% of the other team's offense.

he was going for the ball, didnt hit face or head, there was body contact/foul but it was body on body and not a situation where offensive player gets lower body/legs taken out.... really dont see how there's flagrant there.

i'm all for low threshold for flagrant to discourage reckless plays but really don't see a case for it being reckless here.

He doesn't always make the best decisions, but he's also been forcing it a lot more than normal this series. Seems like he wants to step up with Middleton out, but he's trying to do too much by himself.

It was a flagrant because he was behind the dunker and maliciously (without regard for safety) attempted to make an unnecessary basketball play.
