Long time coming, that is not how the league historically has been. They have made a concerted effort to shift this. Remember how upset former players got when Minnesota hired someone who wasn't black? How many head execs are black?

Definitely not half.
Your heading down a path your not ready to take as your using percentage of the leagues players ethnicities, to lay claim to positions in the front office, coaching, e.t.c.

This is horrendous logic as if it was applied to village, city, county, state, and national standards, the reverse happens. The mere fact that you can't see what your saying means you should be wary of the exact logic your using.

Your argument is terrible, for multiple reasons.

Interesting, out of genuine curiously can you enlighten me about this? I'm happy to say that I'm wrong, I'd rather engage in a true discussion why, as opposed to people blindly saying, derp, "here comes the race card".

Edit: just saw a mod's post in response to yours. I'm fine stopping. Perhaps at a later time I'll open a thread about this issue.

For the media to go out of it's way with a podcast blitz, through mostly white created Zach Lowe cronies about how it was a catastrophe that Jokic wasn't leading the MVP straw poll midseason was despicable. Literally every single podcast that I listened to, had something about how Jokic wasn't getting his due credit. They couldn't stand that their precious advanced stats weren't being lauded.

Let's also talk about precedent. When was the last time that an NBA MVP, did worse record wise but still won the MVP? In a season where there was another candidate who had a better record, and hadn't won the MVP, did the media really have to go out of their way to say, OMG, for the love of humanity, Jokic needs to get a 2nd MVP. Seriously?

No worries though, Embiid has a far better chance at actually winning an NBA championship than Jokic, so even if he never wins an MVP, with a few tweaks, he'll win a ring in the next 1-3 years. Even with Murray and Porter Jr. back, I don't think the Nuggets will. Offensively they will be great, but defensively good luck.

Let’s talk about precedent indeed! Gotta go back 44 years to find an MVP who missed more than 10 games. Embiid missed 14 this year.

In any other year that might be ok, but not in a historic year like this.

Embiid has a better chance of winning championship because he has better teammates. We saw Harden put Embiid and the Sixers on his back last night, it was on display for the world to see.

The list of NBA champions is huge - the list of multiple MVP winners is about a dozen people in all of NBA history. Let’s revisit this conversation if Embiid wins it all as the most important player on his team, ever.

Most were because of Covid, he missed less to injury than Jokic this year. Stop with this line of thinking.

Games missed are games missed. Since when has reason for games missed been an argument for MVP?

Next season, I imagine Embiid, Giannis, and Luka (if he doesn't show up 30 lbs over) will be the heavy favorites.

None of the media brought up Embiid's games missed this year, because they are able to differentiate. Only a few people on realgm who have an axe to grind.

So when Embiid was on the JJ pod a couple of weeks back he made it clear that he thought Jokic was one of the best couple of players in the league. Nothing but props for the guy. Though he did kind of hint that if HE didn’t win the mvp, it should be Giannis.

If Luka can get a good start, he'll be the overwhelming favorite. The media was dying to give it to him at the beginning of this season, only to see that he ate half of Europe over the summer.

it was the main argument for Giannis last year and year before ,he chokes in play offs

Same argument? Can you explain how Jokic is a playoff choker?
It was only his second award so the voter fatigue ain't there yet. Nash, LeBron, Giannis have won 2 consecutive seasons before the voter fatigue hits them.

you can say Jokic wasnt your MVP but if you say he was a bad choice you lose credibility. It really could have gone to any of the 3 top guys.

LOL. Fast forward 5 years later: Joel is a MVP candidate, Brogdon is salary dump candidate.

Now he lost the MVP because RAPTOR and PER matter are skills.

Ok, I colud be a biased Sixers' fan but I won't trade EMbiid for Jokic and a 1st. Expecially this year.
Imho the Embiid's gravity is greater than Jokic's.

He lost the MVP because he had his 2nd best guy out all season and got 51 wins, while the other guy who had his 2nd and 3rd guy out won 48 wins. Without Maxey, the Sixers would have been a .500 team this season. Had the Sixers finished 1st in the East, he would have won it. Better luck next time.

since when MPJ and Murray are best guys ? because they played well in bubble?

You're right. Campazzo and Barton are better.

love Jokic so i think him winning is awesome but it is kind of boring because his team had no shot and is now eliminated. normally the MVP has a chance of winning a ring. it's not his fault but it still sucks.
