I've read deals that go something like Obi Toppin, Grimes OR IQ, cap fillers, and 3 first round picks. This sounds like the fairest of deals.

Ainge practically showed his hand when he hired Hardy. It doesn't change the fact that Utah can hold on to Mitchell or they can trade him. It doesn't change the price that Ainge is asking for given market conditions. People tend to forget that Ainge can be quite the stubborn prick in these matters, for good or ill.

Yeah, Ainge has a tendency and history of being stubborn. But no offense, that feels like an entirely different NBA. KG and PP were not going to demand their way out of Boston, it was not happening. All respect to D. Mitchell, probably the most professional "superstar wanting out" moments over the last decade. Look at AD, KD, Kyrie, Simmons, Harden, Harden, as just a few examples of stars raising hell on Earth to get their way. Mitchell, so far, has been very professional, and it's beautiful. I understand he's under contract, this that and the third, but there are very legit reasons for Ainge to make this deal sooner rather than later.

With that all being said, an offer of Toppin, Grimes, fillers, and three first round picks is a TON, "given market conditions". It's clear we have more to offer in our B-level package than any other team has to offer in their A-level package.

There are a ton of teams that can do three unprotected and fillers. It's better to say that the Knicks can just offer a better package than anyone else who would benefit from or want Don. Question is if they want to.

Also on board with the narrative the TWolves front office's below room temperature (in Minny) IQ level trade ruined the offseason. We could have had fun trades all over the board but they had to go and trade like 8 million picks for freaking Gobert, who barely anyone else was even bidding on

As for NYK they need to stand firm, Brunson and Mitchell is undersized, you can't trade the farm for that perpetual 2nd round exit backcourt. Just say no.

If Wolves cause KD to stay East, and Jazz to struggle to rebuild I call that 3 birds with one stone. When was the last time a top 25 NBA player was traded for picks and filler? I agree the Wolves overpaid, but only by maybe one pick and Walker Kessler. Gobert is the most underrated player in the NBA, and I suspect people are soon going to realize that.

There's nothing valuable out there besides what we can offer bro, face it. Ainge has a vision for next season and unfortunately for you my brother, it involves a lot of losing. It may pay off next Summer in the draft lottery for you all. But as we get closer to training camps, D. Ainge is setting himself up for a **** in Utah unless he starts looking to make a move. You don't discuss your 25 year old superstar in trades and make it publicly known. Jaylen Brown in a Durant deal is one thing, but you don't let the entire league know you're rebuilding, trade your pilar defensive players for first round picks, talk about moving Mitchell, then just hope Mitchell shows up this fall ready to ball.

Sacto and Orlando can pony up the necessary unnecessary picks for a package, yet there's "nothing valuable out there." Aight man.
