sengun looks like an octopus his arms are so long and he's always keeping the ball so low like it's stuck to his tentacles

Sengun is still average defensively.
I think Duren still has a huge ceiling. However tale of skillsets and opportunity

Would Sengun on a team full of playmakers who needed a good rim runner be as effective? Probably not. Right now he's on a team where he can playmake and run the offense. And he's doing well.

Duren is trying to be a rim runner on a team with horrific spacing. If he went to Dallas he would look a LOT better. Duren has to share space with Beef Stew. Then sometimes Wiseman. So he's being asked to do a lot of **** that a young big shouldn't have to.

Imagine your bread and butter is catching lobs and playing off the pick and pop/pick and roll, and 14m of your 32m it's Killian Hayes deciding your next contract. That's brutal

Still have high hopes for Duren. right now it's Sengun. Due to the negligence it's Sengun without thinking about it. Sengun overall. But Duren can potentially be a great player.

He's currently averaging 21 pts 9 rebs and 5 assists a game on 60 percent TS% with solid defense at center, the Rockets are 4th in the league defensively.

The team has made great leaps in development this season due to leadership and his growth, they play through him now like a young Jokic.

I think he's an all-star talent who deserves votes and could grow into a superstar potentially.

Another way of thinking about it.

You can basically replicate Duren every year with a Evan Mobley, Mark Williams, Walker Kessler, Dereck Lively and they will all be decent at rebounding + finish lobs. In fact, Duren is worst on this list (tied with Williams) at defense. So what if his offensive ceiling is higher, so he goes from a great lob finisher into a GOAT lob finisher? :crazy:

If you want to find another Sengun, good luck with that. One may come around every 5-10 years.

Sengun is on the cusp of competing for all nba spots at the age of 21. Duren has to prove a lot more before you take him over him. Its not that close as of right now.

The same weak argument was made about Dirk and Jokic for a long time.
While individual offense greatness can do wonders, individual defense can't.
Surround the Dirks and Jokics of their generation with the right pieces, they can lead you to a championship.

His defensive rating 108.2 (5th)
Defensive Win Shares 1.9 (6th)
Defensive Box Plus/Minus 2.4 (6th)

And Houston got one of the best defence in the league this season with him playing major mins at the center position, How come hes bad at defence can you explain ?

Also you think he cant defend his position ? Please check out Jokic,Sabonis,Holmgren stats this season when they played against Sengun.

The guy they signed as the backup (Landale) has been a massive disappointment but the Rockets would not be where they are without the overachievement of 37 year old Jeff Green and the defensive versatility of Jabari Smith whom Udoka wisely uses to cover for some of Sengun's limitations.

I'm not saying he's the main factor on their defense or anything like that, but he cannot possibly be as bad as some of the more critical of Sengun posters say with such a big role at an important position on such a successful defense.
Jeff Green has been a solid player surprisingly but he's not some big plus defensively, he's just solid bench guy on both ends

PS: Also, it doesn't help Duren being in one of the worst NBA teams in history. So consider that as a factor.

Pistons have a good record when Duren has 15 or more rebounds.

I knew he was an auto top ten draft pick. He’s a young 20 as well I repeat that he’s 20. Sengun is a year older and change

Those that say he isn’t athletic haven’t watched him. Dude has a fridge chest
