Thoughts on Reddish ending up better than RJ? (Not that they have to be compared)

Kid is smooth. But just never know what you’re gonna get from him

i still like RJ better long term, but good to Cam playing well after so many people have been hating him, he's def super smooth, he can be Paul George if he wanted to.

Just posing a question. What makes you take RJ over Cam when Cam's defensive potential seems way higher than RJ's. Cam's shooting is also trending in a better direction that RJ's. If Cam is a better shooter and defender, why would you take RJ or do you believe RJ will be the better scorer and defender?

Ive been very hard on Cam, but I agree he has the higher potential than RJ. But I can definitely see why someone would take RJ over Cam long term. One of the main reasons in my opinion is his drive. He has flat out ridiculous work ethic and lives and breathes basketball. His drive is pretty damn elite.

don't really want to get into RJ vs. Cam again, Cam obviously has higher potential (based on pure potential Cam had the most outside Zion and Bol IMO), but I think RJ's game is more stable, has a stronger body, better handle and playmaker, better rebounder.

also, again, RJ is quite possibly in THE worst possible situation for him tbh, lane cloggers in front him, no shooters around him and no primary handler.

I feel the same way I felt watching reddish at duke even as a worst case scenario he ends up being a streaky 3D wing with nice size even if he doesn’t live up to his potential. that’s still holds some value in today’s nba.

^He had like an 0-10 two game stretch in there too, so the 3pt % is really impressive.

The Hawks staff and GM have also been impressed with CAm's work ethic. They say he wants to be great.

Caught a few Knicks games recently, Barrett actually looks really good. Kinda held back by his teams play and only gets going when he takes things into his own hands.

Kevin Porter Jr is going to be really good, has great instincts & size for defense and looks like a good passer for his position.

If Smart shot behind the arc and Westbrook's foot never crossed the three point line how is that a foul much less a flagrant?

Reddish got hurt after playing 24 minutes. Lower back pain and he walked off on his on. Hopefully its not something that lingers.

Reddish:
8 PTS, 3 REB, 2 AST, 33.3 FG%, 40.0 3PT%

Hunter:
22 PTS, 4 REB, 1 BLK, 61.5 FG%, 66.7 3PT%

Fernando in spot minutes looks more and more like he belongs every night.
17 Minutes, 11 PTS, 2 REB, 1 BLK, 100.0 FG% ( 5 of 5 )

Ja was responsible for 61 points tonight against the best defense in the league !

27/6/14/1 on 16 shots with only 3 TO’s and 71% TS.

Putting his stamp on the ROTY with that sort of a game.

Kinda funny how certain players are "held back" from their teams poor play and others seem to exploit being able to "put up big numbers on a bad team". I'll never understand the weird pseudoscience behind that.

Some teams let the young guys have the keys to develop. Others like the Knicks are starting and giving big minutes to guys that will not be on the team next season while the young guys get spot minutes.

Plus some teams just have no development plans for their players. I mean i just don’t understand why you don’t hire a development coach for each 1st round pick. That is how much i would value 1st round picks if i was over an organization. I mean the players agent/team would have to be onboard but of course i am not a nba insider so i don’t know exactly what is feasible.

Compare Cam Reddish’s development to Kevin Knox...

PJ Washington, looks like a rookie Al Horford. Solid on both ends of the floor and a lot of room to grow. Has go to post moves and can hit the 3. Good defensive instincts. Great passer. Makes some "how did he see that" throws.

Miles and Graham can be had for the right price but have both improved tremendously. Martin and McDaniels are promising but we wouldn't trade them because their value is low

Another plug to get the conversation started on another Co-ROY

Zion and Ja are unprecedented

Kidd and Hill were unprecedented as well.

Would be a great story too and fodder for discussion/clicks/arguments etc
