Only Mitchell can save USA. Gobert playing well makes a huge difference for France.

He'll have to play some defense.

This game is a good example as to why perimeter defense is overrated. We're playing very tight defense on Fournier/De Colo...but that just gets erased when Gobert sets a moving pick and takes the defender out of the play. It's all on the big, and the USA bigs simply can't handle the PnR attack with Gobert rolling hard to the rim.

Probably NBA scrub like Ntkilitina(a turnover waiting to happen) saves USA team ala Osman.

Ridiculous foul on Smart.Instead of an unsportsmanship on DeColo it;s a 8 point difference instead of at least 4..And refs see none of the tons of moving screens of Gobert

Most players on this US roster cant shoot, drive or draw fouls... what else is there on offense? Must be a tough transition to shoot in FIBA because even guys like Kemba and Middleton are bricking shots. On top of that, you add the lack of size and defense and this is it. Guys like Plumlee and Lopez are completely useless and Tatum is still out basically reduces this US team to 9 players deep. Whos idea was it to bring Plumlee anyway? Would rather have Joe Johnson here to be honest

Either FIBA or NBA rules first foul is called. And on both systems, you don't push and/or touch the arm to steal a ball
LA 2028 (Starters):
Francisco - Strazel - Malédon - Traoré ?
Coulibaly - Fournier
Risacher - Cordinier
Yabusele- Hoard - Essengue/Penda?
Wembanyama - Lessort - Raynaud / Beringer /Sarr?

Small ball/stretchy big doesn't work that great vs Gobert when the big doesn't shoot 5/6 from 3... Australia are welcome to try that again in the final(if they get to meet again).

USA is struggling against France as expected. Can easily happen that we get Serbia - USA match anyway. :D

Turner should take notes from Gobert. USA's tough defense against Fournier/De Colo means nothing because Gobert sets a huge screen to give them space. On the other end, Turner is looking to set up his pick and pop instead of setting a good screen.

Turner had some weird statement yesterday about Gobert("He's DPOY... according to some people") and Gobert is showing him out today. Complete and utter destruction.

USA miss Kuzma, he could make some tough shots under pressure.

The ball has a totally different feel. Some adjust better than others

Yeah Fiba Ball feels a lot lighter than the regular Spalding Balls
