Took a historic shooting performance from Nesmith to make the crazy comeback. That wouldn't happen again if they ran it in a simulator 100 times. 1 out of 100 performance. Props to him though.

Hopefully it's a sign that the Knicks will be alright and handle business if it took that kind of performance for the Pacers to be able to come back and win.

They were down 8 points with 42 seconds left.

Cardiac Pacers! Big to steal one in the Garden. Even better the Knicks short rotation had to play extra minutes tonight. I still think the Knicks are the better team but now there a good chance we have a helluva series and I think the deeper it goes the more the Indiana depth can pay off.

Brunson is a great young player.. but he works so hard to score points that an overtime game will absolutely do him in. That said I know if I'm a Knicks fan (which I'm not) they're better off losing now than in the Finals because those guys in Oklahoma will give Brunson a lot of trouble.

It's better to NOT play in the Finals? Obviously you don't realize how dumb that sounds.

Losing in the Finals crushes a teams spirit. Especially those franchises who have longed a championship for quite some time (Knicks). If this series goes the distance Brunson will only increase his mileage only to meet a yoked up defensive juggernaut in the Thunder. You don't think Alex Caruso isn't licking his chops at the opportunity to check Brunson full-court? It won't be nice unfortunately.

Are you sure? I think a number of teams have lost in the finals and came back strong next season to win, or within 2 seasons of losing. I think any team chooses the finals with hindsight

Carlisle absolutely has balls of steel.

His in-game adjustmens worked like a charm as well. To bring Ben Sheppard in the game for the first time in the 4th quarter and then to go small against New York's big lineup were two adjustments that worked way better than expected.

I felt Sheppard was better than Mathurin

Math's ceiling is way higher, but Shep is just a steady Eddie. Guy won't hurt you while he's on the floor by trying to do too much and will do a lot of the intangibles that don't show up on the stat sheet. The fact that he could not play a whole game and come in during crunch time and help fuel a run shows how much a professional he is.

The other teams, I would at least say it's at least a 50/50 shot, like this Knicks series. I would say is a coin flip.

Not sure if the shot making was crazy or the fact the Pacers got some defensive rebounds down the stretch was more surprising/big. I’m sure there is a blowout or 2 coming, but the series should be entertaining. I’m going to lose my Pacers fan card but the Knicks have always been my 2nd favorite team so whoever wins I’ll be pulling for in the next round.

I don’t see why not. They have a really solid team. I’m about to list some teams just in recent memory who have lost and came back and won in a very small amount of time. Yes, these are great teams I’m going to list but I think NY would be able to

Heat in 2012
Spurs in 2014
Cavs in 2016
Warriors in 2017
The Heat making it back to the finals after losing to LA
Boston after losing to GS

That’s just the last decade+

Sometimes teams get so hungry after losing. I don’t see how NY would be different
