Whatever happens in the SRB-CAN SF, is this Dillon Brooks very early Redemption Tour?

He was villified by fans, jilted by the Grizzlies, etc and now he performs as one of the key players for this Canadian squad? His performance against Spain saved Canada, with respect to SGA who is the Alpha here, but without those clutch 3 pointers they would have never went to Manila for the KO stages.

I’d like to think even the Raps board/base love him now (not sure where they stood in all the “Houston overpaid for him” talk) ?

Yes we love Brooks now. I do. He's a bit of a mouth and fiery, but we need that for Canada - we are a laid back and agreeable bunch (as you can see from our other players - too laid back IMO). You forgot that it wasn't just his clutch 3s that kept Canada in the game vs Spain it was his defense as well. His D was key in this game vs. Slovenia as well. He got under Luka's skin and that got him the 2nd tech.

Honestly,was expecting us to lose against Canada(they have better Players...we have two Players who make around 60000euros a year ...one in the starting lineup, an undersized PF)...they were better,also Got some favorable whistles/soft calls(they were allowed to be a lot more physical on D),but thats's what you get when our team complains a lot(the refs talk and they won't change their mind)...still, thought we'd lose by more,so not that impressed with Canada...I think Serbia will go to the final

As for us.... unfourtunately we have serious lack of big men(PF,C)...the most talented Players that are coming up are mostly 6'5, 6'6 PG or SG...Hopefully Sergej Macura (6'9)developes as a PF and Cancar stays injury free...maybe the older Macura(Jurij 6'11) gets healthy/stays injury free and we have a backup C...we need size badly

I agree with you completely. Slovenia needs some size in the worst way. From a perimeter perspective, offensively you are right there with the best in the world.

RJ thrives on being able to go to the rim against smaller teams with little rim protection (today for example). When he's doing that stuff we become very hard to beat.

Canada nailed the coaching choice IMO
Not many guys have the NBA experience to bring those players together while at the same time having worked in top clubs in Europe enough to know the intricacies of those tournaments. He didn't try to turn them into Latvia which would be wrong because ultimately these are NBA players, but he did enough to avoid the major pitfalls of FIBA ball. Nick Nurse had some of that versatility too but Jordi Fernandez is the perfect mix if you want to maximize your chances in this tournament. Well done team Canada.

Yeah,It's crazy how in the past we had some amazing C and PF,who played in the NBA and the best teams in Euroleague(Nesterovič,Brezec,Slokar, Smodiš Just to name a few) and now it's seems like we only produce good PG...we need a change of generation but I Don't think it will happen next year sonce there are Olimpic qualifications

Just noticed it's well past 100 pages and we've always locked threads at that point. Honestly I don't think we're sure if we even need to lol. A long time ago if a thread got too big it would slow the servers down and cause problems. The system is improved now and it hasn't caused a problem in a long time, so maybe we just do it by tradition now instead of necessity. But that's what we do haha.

I almost quoted your OP and made a new one myself, but if I do that you won't be able to update the thread title etc.
