Re: Should Wade get suspended
What the Heat apologists are failing to understand is if there's no punishment given then they're greenlighting a retaliation "foul" in game 3. I don't wanna hear these honks complaining when LeBron gets his ass laid out.
The league has the opportunity to keep this from escalating into a full out brawl by game 6. Just give him a game.

Plus tacitly admitting what we suspect to be true, that Stern will do what he can to avoid the ratings disaster of a Pacers-Spurs or Pacers-Griz final.

I hope the Pacers don't retaliate against LeBron. I'm not a LeBron fan, but outside of a flop here and there he plays the game the right way.
If the Pacers retaliate, go for Wade and Wade only.

I think there will be retaliation-- with or without a Wade suspension.

Are you freaking kidding me? You have to be incredibly biased to believe that this was unintentional.
He jumped and raised his elbow. Why? He knew where Stephenson's head was. Wade is part of the 0.00001% more coordinated people in the world. He knows what he is doing with his body.

How can you say that?![]()
Lance might wake up tomorrow with a headache and be diagnosed with a concussion, forcing him to miss game 3 at the expense of a cheap shot.
I just don't think it was intentional and if he does get an concussion then actions should be made but if he's fine play ball. I had enough of the ref involvement already in this series I just want to see them play

Re: Should Wade get suspended
My first, second and third reaction is that Wade intentionally tried to hurt him. I think a suspension of at least 1 game is warranted. That was a vicious blow to the head with an elbow that connected.
IMO, 1 game isn't enough of a suspension - 2 games would be more like it - and a multiple game suspension will be warranted if STevenson has a concussion, which I think is a real possibility (in part given by his horrible play down the stretch - which might be due to him trying to play tough through a blow to the head).
However, I suspect, that the suspension will be for 1 game, because Wade is such an icon in this league.
Wade's a thug, BTW.

Re: Should Wade get suspended
Every Heat player should be suspended. They should do it like the NCAA, a ban from the playoff contention for lack of institutional control. Previous wins vacated. Perhaps promote the Bulls or the Bucks to the ECF to close out the series. Maybe even retroactively apply it to last year too for good measure...

Makes me lol of the better than kobe arguments so prevalent when he won his first ring and the immediate years after. In hindsight, he is sooverrated and a poor sport dirty player.
Wade is 31, Kobe will be 35 in August, that's a 4 year difference; Wade 1982, Kobe 1978
Now you understand why Kobe is a legend and Wade is an overrated player... Kobe still dominates at nearly 35, Wade at 31 needs to retire....
wades game relies much.more on athletiscism. no disrespect towards wade he's a hofer but kobe is far more skilled.

No. A hard foul to avoid an easy lay-up (making sure that the opposing player isn't risking injury, of course) is playoff basketball.
An elbow to the temple and nut shots are not playoff basketball.
was he hurt? did it change the outcome of the game?
yeah, after watching for years, that IS playoff basetball
Wade's intention to hurt is just as important if not more important than how much Stephenson was hurt. Outcome of the game is irrelevant.

Using complete exaggeration to try to cope n downplay this incident is dumb. Just face it. Ur boy played dirty. 95% of the people here agree and no one is coming close to call for the end of the world on this clown. Everyone here thinks a 1 game suspension is fair and to move on with a good series. Dont be butthurt

LOL at the justifications in this thread....if he was in his way, go around him...if someone being in your way is legitimate justification to launch an elbow at the other players head, then we'd see it on every sceen set on a player
that was a dirty play, but wade has a history of those and will get away it like b4
the refs should be disciplined too for not calling anything

Pretty much, but keep your previous wins, no one wants those tainted games back.

wade is a flopping scumbag of a player
If JR smith got suspended than wade should be also.
But than again, this is the nba where rules r only enforced to selective players and the others laugh at those rules.

It's always been that way for the Heat, for some reason. The moment they get away with something, it's scrutinized, but when the other team does it's given maybe 5 seconds of attention as it happens. Wait until the refs start messing up calls in favor of the Heat, it will replace the "should wade get suspended" threads.
