My God people seriously underestimate Jimmy around here...The man plays with nothing but D league players and a old washed up vet and still got us to the playoffs. He improves every season and is a workhorse day in and day out...Jimmy is a star and people talking about getting future 1st round picks for him..Not even this year 1 or 3rd(He is worth that by FAR)... :nonono:

You're not reading it right. The theory is that Magic is trying to put the kibosh on the deal so the Sixers don't jump ahead to pick Ball.

I think Boston wants butler and okafor for the no1 and Bradley fillers. Okafor would buff up their lack of size up front. And he can score too, though defensively not great. And try to sign Hayward. Potential lineup,

Hayward,
Butler
Okafor
Hardord.

Sixers will be fine with 3 and okafor for no1. Bit if i were the bulls, i would not give up butler just for the no3.

We're in the presence of shiny new things. I think Fultz is gonna be really good. He just seems to have that workers' mentality that makes good prospects into great players. But he still hasn't played a game yet and he doesn't have the pedigree that other prospects did coming in. It's wild.

I don't think Butler gets involved in this deal when all is said and done. Ainge probably just really wants Josh Jackson and that Lakers pick. He would then have a shot at two top 5 picks next year.

Love Butler. But #3 & 2 picks in 2018 seems like a lot. I don't see Boston agreeing to that.

Jimmy Butler was 5th in VORP and 11th in BPM in the entire league last season. Not to mention he's on a GREAT contract, and will be one of the best values in the league over the next 3 years. He's worth two or three 1sts + a player IMO. He just doesn't get the love he should because CHI had an off year.

Edit: If a player like James Harden (who was less proven at the time) could get traded for 3 1sts, then Butler could definitely go for that type of haul. Plus, this trade would give BOS cap space to go after Hayward or Millsap if they wanted to.

Can't argue with Ainge's results but it's not like he's King Midas. Remember when he wanted to trade 4 1st rounders for Justise Winslow? And badly wanted Jah Okafor? He's the same as the rest of us when it comes to evaluating prospects (i.e. a blind guesser who can't see the future), and the only reason he's looked good so far is that he got lucky with other teams passing up his bad deals. Yup, he's my #1 in this draft but it took a lot of tape to nudge him over the other guys in my book (this was before the lotto). As a Sixers fan, I wouldn't be thrilled at #3+LAL 2018 but I could live with it because of fit and because it avoids some problems with guys we might take at 3. But it would be an egregious disaster to trade #3+LAL+SAC, and I doubt that would really be on the table.

It's either that or BOS wastes the primes of IT/Crowder/Horford. Unfortunately, Josh Jackson + Hayward (if he signs) are not going to put BOS over CLE. One game in that series was close. One.
