I'm a Lonzo fan, but he will not average 25, 10 and 8, and will not win MVP or make any All-NBA teams this year. He has many great years ahead of him, but pump the brakes.

If he did somehow lead them to the top 3 in the West, it will take a lot more than him averaging that. The Lakers are sorry.

Lakers vs G-league Suns for 82 games

why not?

Lakers look like they have a legit shot to take a big step forward this year.

The Warriors will be number 1 in the West, but after that it’s wide open. CP3 is already hurt in Houston, Butler looks like a total bust in Minnesota, Melo is the consummate loser, which takes OKC out of the mix, Clippers are trash this year

I'm not taking anything for granted including Warriors winning it all. This is why we watch the season. Lonzo will have competition for ROY from De'Aaron Fox.

Lonzo is probably the best rookie to come into the NBA, since Magic Johnson.

Haters are gonna hate because he’s on the Lakers, but they’re just jealous they don’t have him on their team.

I love imbibing in some big helping of Zoball but c'mon my friend, Ball would have to have LeBron type impact. Lal would have to win 20+ more games, make the post season, he would have to average a triple, and lebron/westbrook /harden/curry/kd would all have to suck

Ball has a long to go before he proves he's a star let alone the nonsense in op.

Soon he will join Brandon Jennings, OJ Mayo and Tyreke Evans in bust purgatory.

If Lonzo keeps improving he might finish top 15 in mvp voting 3-4 years from now.

Do you actually watch your team play?

Yeah, I watched them completely blowout, embarrass, and eviscerate one of the best young up and coming teams last night.

They have an absolute loaded roster this year, Top 5 Center in Lopez, one of the best defending SF in Deng, a once in a generation talent like Lonzo Ball, another future superstar in Brandon Ingram, and a coach in Luke Walton who came from Golden State, where he had great success.

Lakers are legit this year.

If he puts up 25/8/10 every night on good efficiency while helping the Lakers get into the playoffs then sure why not. Will that happen though, sample size is too small to say. Gut says no.

I merged the Lonzo Ball thread with the other Lonzo thread, there is no need to start a new thread about a player for every little thing, it just mucks up the board. Lets try and keep all things Lonzo in this thread okay. No need to have 3 Lonzo threads on the main page.

I'd rather have Lonzo/Kuzma/Lopez than Lonzo/Dlo/Mozgov.

That latter trio, Lonzo and Dlo have overlapping skills and Mozgov is hot trash.

Is it wrong to be giddy and filled with glee when looking at moz' stats while in brkln? he definitely is continuing his hot trashing legacy up there. what a bum

Pisses me off that he doesnt use that 1st step enough to just impose his will because clearly he has it but he's so past 1st that at times it hurts him. Hopefully he finds that balance similar to how John Wall did as far when to attack and when to get the ball moving

I think Zo should average double rpg. There is no one in the NBA short of a Kevin Love pass who I would rather have than Zo bringing the ball upcourt - he's built for this

This thread is the reason Lonzo is far and away the favourite for RoTY

The sheer attention he garners puts everyone else in his shadow
