Another thing is......for all the talent Embiid and Simmons have, they don’t always play nice with each other let alone others.

This is a lot of egos in that locker room.

Good luck Brett Brown because you are going to cop the blame here ignore we can’t at least make conference.

And Brett Brown isn't the guy to manage all this drama

I think it's destined to come down to Philly and Boston in the ECF(what a treat the 2nd round will be in east)

Boston is gonna play Harris and Reddick tight and sag way off Simmons, Butler and Emblid and dare them to beat them from outside(much the way they defended Simmons last year in playoffs).

I still like Boston to prevail in the east.

76ers: This is going to get tough money wise down the road. They probably don't want to give Harris BIG money considering Butler will demand a max and Simmons will after next season, so sacrificing potentially good role players down the road (Redick) Also what are they going to do this summer when a team like the Nets offers Tobias max money.

Sixers have extremely wealthy owners who have made out like bandits on their acquisition (basically tripled their money before winning anything)

They’ll either cash out soon for a wealthier replacement or roll the dice again

No lose situation for the Sixers

Clippers get their cap, picks (potentially top 5-10), and also have a ton of role players/depth. Philly's long term potential is an unknown if the new Big 4 doesn't work as planned. It's a no gamble versus definite gamble for the teams involved.

Winner: Clippers

What picks are potentially top 5-10?

Philly pick looks like 24-28 this year and 2021 Miami Pick most likely around 10-16 but potentially could be slightly better or worse.

Very very unlikely it’s top 5-10 though.

Miami have had 1 pick inside the top 10 in the last 15 years.

Anything can happen but they are trash this year and have had injuries and still in pick 15 position. They have Winslow, Adebayo, Richardson and Pat Riley who just simply doesn’t allow his team to bottom out along with the chance they can move or draft other good players in the next 2 years.

While I appreciate the Sixers aggressiveness, it's kind of a sad statement on the league when a team with a winning record in position to make the playoffs just chucks it all away and intentionally blows it up to prevent that undesirable outcome.

Butler is a 38% 3pt shooter

When you have 3 guys > 37% shooting from 3 it’s quite hard to just guard them tight and dare 2 other guys to beat you especially considering the matchup for Embiid is an old Horford who has been battling now (not like his 2018 season) and is averaging nearly 28 points per game.

So 3 very good 3 pt shooters, arguably the best distributor/passer in the league in Simmons and an absolute monster anywhere within 16 feet who will get nearly everyone of your defenders in foul trouble if you allow him to beat you down in the paint, who averages 27 points per game.

It’s good in theory to think they’ll be able to do that but there’s so many weapons there on both sides of the court and 2-3 guys who are above average in every area of the court (outside, inside, defense) and the benches mean even less in playoffs, it’s going to be a huge ask for Boston.

The only hope I think they have is chemistry issues for Philly or an injury.

and Wilson Chandler who they might be able to get something before the deadline for. It would be a rental, but contenders always need 3 and D types. Maybe Sacramento now? They have a bunch of Seconds. Zach Randolph and a couple of 2nds for Wilson Chandler?

True - but the numbers on Butler are a little misleading, he's incredibly inconsistent.
December - 31% from 3 (3.5 attempts per game)
January - 29.6% from 3 (2.7 attempts per game)

He's just not a consistent shooter so you don't know what you are going to get come playoffs or what you might get over the course of a series(good or bad)

Simmons, Redick, Butler, Harris, Embiid is legit.

Clippers will go all-in on the FA-market (read: Kawhi)

I like Tobes for Philly though. Gonna be an interesting offseason for them with paying him and Butler, unless one is a rental...or a replacement for the other.

Terrible acquisition for Philly. Tobias better not take offensive touches away from Simmons and stunt his development in that area.

Playing Harris like he's Redick would be a bad idea given that he's more than capable of handling the ball and creating his own offense in spurts.

You actually want Harris more on the catch and shoot it with one or two dribbles. He doesn’t have great handles. Calling it for weeks by Tobias needs a Klay Thompson type role and Philly is the perfect fit

I admire how aggressive Elton Brand has been as a general manager. Willing to cash in and take risks.

Funny that only Raptors fans are making a big fuss over Mike Scott here lol. He's not playing well this year, but that guy is such a wildcard. Went off on Toronto for a couple of games last playoffs.

How is it sad? They are clearly doing this to amass talent and hurt the Celtics chances at getting a player they also want.

The Celtics offer will now just be the Kings pick which could be 15-18th. Jerry West is just brilliant and his moves should be trusted.

He's a certified Raptor Killer, even the few shots he misses against the Raps barely pop out of the rim. And it's not just 3's, dude hits off balance mid range jumpers with a hand in face like it's nothing.
