Second thing. His 2k rating is obviously the most important.

In fairness though him scoring 20ppg this season is probably the most likely of the 4 things to happen.

I mean its fun to clown the guy and all, but if I was in a video game I'd be lying if I claimed I wasn't interested in my rating. Other than that a scorer wants to score, he wants to be recognized as good, and he wants his team to win?

I'm really failing to see the problem here. LOL at people telling him to be humble. I mean I appreciate the Duncan's and Stockton's as much as anyone, but nothing wrong with a little talk if you can back it up.

He was asked for this year's goals. Do you really think any NBA player's goals would be averaging 18ppg, not make the all star team, and have a first round playoff exit? Your childish and incessant Celtics bashing is getting very old.

Come on, you don’t thinking setting a goal of scoring above other things is a little Melo-esque?

I’m not saying he’s gonna be a disappointment, but he sure ain’t looking like the kind of player that Ben Simmons is becoming: someone who doesn’t care about his stats, only wins, and does everything he can on the court to promote winning, including heavy facilitation. Does Tatum even know what the term “pass” means?

He should of said he’ll average at least 3 assists per game like every wing player would answer when those kinda questions get asked. Nothing Melo-esque about that answer in these circumstances. Just creating stuff out of nothing.

I know.. he gets that questions asked, should have stand up and say ‘no this interview is not about me’

Yeah right.

And yes of course the Celtics won't win the title this season, nobody with a brain would expect that. But a player has to say he wants to win it all otherwise people question his motor.

He could say nothing and do those things instead

Mamba mentality minus the Mamba skills

I can't see him having a blow out year like a young Kobe or TMac, You can already see right now he ain't bout that Superstar life, He has below average dribbling skills, Below average athleticism, Below average footwork and most importantly he looks scared attacking the basket.

Bounced in the first round and no way he sniffs an all star game.

Celtic hate runs deep here. He got past the first round of the playoffs in both his first two seasons in the league, but now he's out in round 1 when the East is going to be the weakest out of the three years? :noway: yah, ok.

I'm just impressed that this site can make this nothing statement from a hopeful star a 2 page thread, let alone 15. Could his comments be any more "nothing-burger"?

I'd be a lot more impressed if he talked about improving on defense as his first instinct and then throwing everything else he said afterwards. Without that element - which would have been an actual revelation - it's just a standard nothing to get riled up about statement from a typical young player, etc.

He's already a plus defender lol. Of course he can improve on that side of the ball, but him improving his already good defense wouldn't exactly be a revelation.

It's the mindset more than the results that are more relevant for what I said. Even if he was the best defender in the entire NBA, a very revealing statement would have had him starting with defense before anything else.

Oh for **** sake.

You and your Nets cronies are genuinely sad.

You’re like Chinese bots trying to defend Sun Yang’s credibility.

You genuinely have no idea.

I remember when Whiteside was obsessing over increasing his 2k rating. Not a big deal, but not exactly what you want to hear as a goal for a player.

thats a bit different then a 30 year old kemba in the prime of his career. it is a poor comparison.

Kyrie played one year as a teenager.

the timing is bad too... when you have a bunch of players with reputations for having inflated egos in a toxic enviornment you really nee to avoid this stuff and go with a patriots like awnser of "its all about the team, not personal goals"
