So LeBron took 2 weeks off because he had an injured back. Is this supposed to be some kind of revelation? He took two weeks off and still played more games that year than Kawhi has in 6 of his 8 seasons.

Isn’t this the NBA’s fault? Both games are nationally televised. Why would you schedule a back to back like that?

Kawhi has a chronic condition. Anyone who remotely follows Kawhi should know this and that he won’t play back to backs including the NBA who is not fining the Clippers and giving approval for Kawhi to miss the game.

Not just Kawhi, but in general B2B's shouldn't even exist anymore, ESPECIALLY on national TV. Clippers have B2B today then B2B first thing next week. Their 3rd set already. Too much. They have 3-4 days off in between, which is too much rest as well.

Warriors and Lakers have been playing national back to backs for years, and I’m sure the clippers did too back when they were good before. There’s only so many markets that can do the late time slots.

Maybe they should make a change, but let’s not act like it’s something they should be expected to anticipate that a star player on one of these teams would just systematically not play back to backs.

I get that the Portland game is more important because of seeding/competition in the west/potential tie breakers..etc. But you really depriving a bunch of fans from watching Kawhi play Giannis (home fans, at that). And it wasnt even a predictable 'load management' as this is on the front side of the B2B

This argument is so overused. Chris Paul is an injury prone player. Kawhi is also an injury prone player. Load management makes no difference to players with frail frames. They'll get injured again and using the minutes argument makes absolutely zero sense because they have a fraction of the mileage actual work horses have. Especially Kawhi. He literately has been missing game every year since he's been drafted.

Argument doesn’t work for Kawhi. He has an overuse condition that is treated by prevention so how many minutes he plays is absolutely vital to managing it.

I have zero issue w/ him sitting because of his injury history. The goal is to win a championship, not win 1 particular regular season game in early November.

Kawhi's not an iron man that will grind out 82 games and carry you night in and night out, that's just the way it is.
