i do like the fact that this was made by a Lakers' fan and Embiid was once again unable to get out of the second round.
Centers need the second player usually another elite wing or guard to get over the top
Without Murray’s coming to become playoff Murray again. I don’t think Denver wins last night game.
Harden great game won game 1 vs Boston without embiid. Harden grear game also won game 4 with embiid.
Pretty much tells you what you need to know. Without elite perimeter players who handle the ball often to contribute 25-30 a night. It won’t matter what a center does.
Embiid played well in game 3 and harden/maxey sucked and sixers lost. Harden also sucked in game 6/7 as well. Embiid played decent in game 6 and Maxey kept sixers in game 6. So you need a second player to player well with an elite center.
You say Embiid needs a playoff performer who shows up to win? What about Jimmy Butler?
When Embiid had Butler as his teammate against the Raptors Embiid averaged 17.6 ppg on 37% shooting and had more turnovers than assists. Part of the reason perimeter players play so well with Jokic is because of his passing.
2023 playoff stats:
Jokic: 30, 14, and 10, 62.9 TS%, 32.9 PER
Embiid: 24, 10, and 3, 56.1 TS%, 20.3 PER
And don’t talk about defense when Embiid got cooked by Tatum.
In my opinion switching Embiid with Jokic in Phila 2018-19 that team would have won everything...
Jokic
Harris
Butler
JJ Redick
Ben Simmons
I remind everyone that Jokic in the 2019 Playoffs (14 games) averaged 25.1ppg/13.1reb (3.9oreb)/8.4ast ts% 0.594 GmScore= 24.5
In the ECSemi Embiid had a GmScore of 11.8 and with practically only Jimmy Butler Phila came one step away from eliminating Toronto.
