Yearly releases for sports games are pointless, especially since the addition of online updates. It’s just copy and paste the previous games, but make one small little tweak and just push that little change in marketing to make it sound like it’s a brand new game.

EA and 2k won’t change until people stop buying these games every year. People are essentially paying $60-70 every year for a roster update.

Can’t say the same for EA but for the past year it seems like they’re finally making an effort to change the game. The ProPlay technology made the game way more realistic and this is the first time they changed the dribble engine for 2k25 in like 15 years. It looks super smooth and fluid. From people that played the game on community day, it sounds like a brand new game and it looks like it for the most part too.

Video games are a massive time sponge.

I will wait for the reviews, demo or people's first hand impressions on it. Haven't cared for a 2k game in forever.

The only mode I'm interested in is career mode (single-player experience) and instead of improving on it, they've gotten worse with a lot of long grinds and monetization (due to direct tie to online PVP). So been years I've stopped buying. If I need a quick fix, I just play whatever's most recent on Game Pass or PS Plus.

On PC for modding visuals yea, I will make bank over there.. will never touch the console version again. Developers have lost inspiration to improve how the game presents.

It’s pretty unfortunate that the people that haven’t played 2k in years assume that they’re putting out the same game like they used to. They’ve finally started to make that next gen leap gameplay wise and it’s the most realistic gameplay we’ve ever seen.

I only play offline MyLeague mode. It's got the same issues and bugs every year.

Based on their MyNBA trailer, 2K has barely touched franchise mode this year, instead focusing on a janky GM RPG nobody asked for.

LOL

They really have not. The game massively regressed over the last decade.

Unfortunately the game is a great example of ***hole design. If you're not connected to the internet you get an annoying message to connect that you cannot remove and persists even during game play. When you are connected you're spammed repeatedly for offers to buy next year's game, HOF game edition, etc. During the season they autoplay whatever My2K show they have for that year.

Now that they've added MyEra there's no reason to continue to buy the game year after year. I spend almost all my time playing out "What If" teams/players from previous seasons. Doing an early 2010's Bulls/Wolves one where I traded up to the 2nd overall pick in the 2012 draft expecting to take Beal, only for the Pistons to take him first overall leaving Anthony Davis to drop to me, forming a Love/KG/AD rotation at the 4/5

I’ll buy it when it on sale for $29 not interested like most years I’ll save my $100 not wasting on a copy paste game like in years past 2007-2024 this is the last stop for me

They added a new era in 2k25 ("steph curry era). believe it starts in 2016 when KD teamed up with steph. Im looking forward to making sure my Knicks don't draft Frank that year
