Yeah, Precious hasn't been as good so far but he has been trending in the right direction of late. And I'm no Richards expert either, but my limited viewings do support the complaints you hear about him from Hornets fans...good tools, but no clue how to use them.

I just don't see the point with Val, I'd rather have tiny Precious actually protecting the rim than big Val scratching his ass :dontknow:

If all Richards needs is refining...we have the perfect coach for that. Thibs is truly the big man whisperer.

Not everyone is teachable. Maybe that is all Richards needs, but it seems a lot more like he's just the Cam Reddish of rim protectors and if we're going to wait for a raw but toolsy dude to learn what makes him any different from Sims / Hukporti? :dontknow:

Sure Thibs taught Mitch to be disciplined with his fouls, but Karl's fouling is still a mess, and Robinson had shown a lot of intriguing defensive instincts that were just undermined by him trying to swat every single shot.

I know I said I dont watch him, but I do recall watching him verus us a season (or 2) ago and thinking he had some nifty moves. He was nowhere near Cam Reddish space cadet level...he just maybe needed to be a bit more assertive.

If our FO goes after him I hope you're right...but Cam looked competent at times too; that's how he tricked us

Brunson: So what are you paid to do?
Hart: Run around like an idiot during the game and f*** s*** up!

Dont think Cam tricked us ...he was always low risk high reward type with lowish expectations from the FO . If he worked out ...great, if not ..bye bye. And the thing is ...he turned into Josh Hart.

Maybe Precious himself would be a better comparison. Raptor fans swore up and down that he was a space cadet. And that was actually true...for them. But the Bigman whisperer did his thing, and Precious tuned into a double double machine by mid season.

Eh, OG's defensive metrics are down this season too, but he's still OG. Having to play Towns at the 5 has undermined our rim protection and forced our wings to cheat down, which is fine against 26 of the 29 other teams in the NBA but gets shredded by the top 3. Bridges has had his ups & downs defensively, but he's settled in since his rough start the season.

Will be interesting to see what impact Robinson getting back up to speed will have on our defenders who have been stretched a little thin in his absence...both in terms of responsibility and simple workload.
