Spurs with KD is a title contender. Rockets are also on the same boat. It makes sense why they'd want a player of KD's caliber-- even at 37 years old.

For the Spurs he would be a great addition. Assuming they'd give up Vassell, Barnes and #14 they'd be a playoff team next year, maybe even win a series. Playoff experience for Wemby, Castle and Harper. Also Wemby learning from KD for a few years would be great.

Two year extension with the Spurs would be ok capwise with Castle and Harper still on rookie contracts.

I concur.
Ware is the key piece. Riley won't trade him for KD but realgmers will include Ware in all of their proposals.

Sure we'll take last year's 6th leading scorer in the league off your hands, but not if it's going to cost us the 5th runner-up in ROY votes from one of the weakest rookie classes in years.

You can have Duncan Robinson though.

I think Miami prefers to groom Ware. They won't trade him.

Nor should they. He is raw and far from finished but there is a seriously limitless ceiling/potential for Ware.

The kid probably exceeded even the Heat's internal most wildest expectations with his play last season. He was not meant to be this talented and potentially dominant (at this times) this early

He is a sure fire blue chip prospect, one worth keeping at all costs (imo)

The Spurs with Wemby-KD-Fox is a higher tier Playoff team if not a contender. And they probably wouldn't have to give up Castle or Harper to get him, either. They'd genuinely be set up to have two timelines with that approach.

If I'm the Spurs and I can get KD for Vassell + 14th pick + Barnes and a second or two, I'm going for it.

I would give ball into Amen hands next season and would look his progress. They SCF or CF team if Amen would make next step and most likly he will. If HOU wants upgarde roster, they need to trade Green + assets for other more consisten SG like Powell/Bane/C.White. I could agree for KD trade in only one case, if they trade Green, but PHO won't acept b/c they have two SG.

Wemby/Fox also is PO team if healthy. Young players (Castle/Harper/Wemby) progress is more important than empty calories from KD (scoring).

Natural growth was the only path to success for last 5 champioship teams: Tatum/Brown, Jokic/Murray, Curry/Green, Shai/D-Will, Giannis/Middleton. You can add third fiddle to these guys like Holiday MIL/White BOS/Wiggs GSW/Gordon DEN, but not player like 37y old star who eats all offence.

The return will not be and it should not be big. He is expiring contract, 37 years old.

No one is giving a young player or high draft pick for him.

I think Pat Riley knew what he was getting with Ware when he drafted him 15th overall.

I remember when Dame specifically wanted to go to Miami. Even made subliminal IG posts about it. Is there any valid reason Phoenix shouldn't trade KD to Minnesota if they have the best offer?

Rafael Stone values future picks more than Ime Udoka and rightfully so because it’s the GM’s job to preserve assets. However if the Rockets end up including the 27’ pick, along with Jabari, Jalen and #10 this year that’s an awesome rotation assuming Amen takes the next step in his development.

Jalen Green (whether it’s PHX or a third team)
Jabari Smith
#10
27’ 1st returned

for

KD
#29

Starters:
FVV
Brooks
Amen
KD
Sengun

Depth:
Sheppard
Witmore
Tari
Adams
#29
Non-apron exception

I dont understand how anyone is watching these playoffs and now the finals and thinks 37 year old KD is leading a team anywhere close to a title.

Rockets shouldn't even need to give up their 10th pick. Green + Jabari is more than enough to rent out a 37 star with only one or two more years left. Maybe 2027 1st round pick returned if they really want him. But thats all I'm offering if I'm Houston.

If I'm the Suns I ask for the rights to Juan Nunez from the Spurs, as well. They could use him in the next couple years as a secondary playmaker next to Booker and see how they need to build their team out.

KD for Barnes, Vassell, 2026 First (Swap rights), and rights to Juan Nunez.

for HOU it makes sense because KD provides the one thing that was the team's biggest weakness this past season. consistent, reliable raw scoring in the half court.

I think we saw last year that for all of his defensive acumen, Udoka doesn't run anything elaborate on offense. so getting a guy who is an ISO scorer who also does not disrupt previously installed schemes seems ideal.

although - there's a definite limit to what HOU should give up for that. its a short term solution to plug a gap, and its only worth doing if the players that HOU will rely on for the future can still develop to eventually replace KD's production organically.

I have #10 this year and the 27’ 1st as equal value. The Suns are trying for both which is what they should do. Maybe there’s compromise somewhere in between

Try again. That trade doesn't work.

"Rockets are unable to complete this trade. Since they are now an over apron team after this trade, they are only able to take back 100% of the salary they are sending out, plus $0. Rockets can only take back $45.6M in salary based on the amount they are sending out. Cut $9.0M from the Rockets incoming trade value to make this trade successful for the Rockets."

So add Londale or another filler. Not difficult.
