i think some people still don't understand. Philly is losing cuz of Embiid, even if he shoots 20/20 and is plus 20 (which he's not). He's bad karma

Of course they can. That's what officials do at the end of every game.

Maxey flopped hoping for a call. Bad decision. Maxey two hand shoves Josh Hart on the inbound to create separation. Not called either. And I don't think most people want to see either of those called.

And why are you posting tweets from random nobodys.

Yeah you can't complain about the contact from Brunson on Maxey if you also want refs to ignore a literal 2 hand shove from Maxey to Hart to even get open.

Either both get called which would have given the Knicks the ball anyways or no call for both.

You can't be like "actually just let them play when MY team fouls, but call it for my team when they're fouled"

Yeah we've seen more than a few calls go NYK's way this season. Detroit one being the most aggregious one.

We've also seen a number of calls go against us. The Houston one springing immediately to mind...NBA refs are just inconsistent and teams get home-cooking :dontknow:

Nope, bad inbound, Maxey lost control, dove to get the ball, got it ripped away from him. Sorry.

no it was fixed; everybody knows it; you know it too but just does not want to admit it

They tried to fix it for the MVP, but the Knicks wouldn't let them 8-)

NiceLikeChrist wrote:Posting a single frame where the ball is in Maxeys hand while nurse signals a TO is so disingenuous.

If you look at that exact clip in real time you’ll see nurse FINALLY calling for a TO for real and a split second later the ball is already loose and out of maxeys hands. He could’ve called time out after Brunson hit the 3, he could’ve called time out any time prior to Maxey loosing the ball but instead he put his hands down.

Nurse has a long long history of complaining about refs but now he has some of the leagues worst foul baiters and floppers on his team. Suck it up a little bit.

Exactly. I’ve noticed this on RealGM and other social media. Every “irrefutable” piece of evidence about that timeout pump fake is a still image.

WorldWideWob on Twitter did the best analysis right away by showing real-time video, zoomed in, where Nurse is hesitating, preparing to call a timeout. He didn’t until Maxey lost the ball. Period. Fact. Watch it, not looking at still images.

Also, I’ve seen that jersey grab image posted last night and this morning way more than I expected. Yet only a handful of people have shown the TWO-handed shove Maxey took to get free in the first place.

Long story short: I hope that if the referees do decide to change how calls are made in subsequent games, it’ll go both ways. I wasn’t going to complain about Embiid’s flopping disasterclass or BS like Lowry got away with, but if officials decide to change the flow of the game, it starts there…

To be fair to the man, he's been doing a great job disrupting Brunson at the POA with his length and athleticism. He's not a very smart player and his attention can wander, but Oubre, Batum, & Lowry have showed up for Philly.

I'm obviously biased...not only as a Knicks fan but one who put a token bet on the knicks winning games 1, 2, 3, & 5...but doesn't this video clearly show Nurse not going through with the TO motion before the inbounds...hesitating to bring his hands together and then rapidly pulling them apart before full straightening the upper hand to form the top of the T...only making a clear & complete signal for a TO after it's been inbounded and Maxey's already bobbling it?

I remember how many years that Miller play was brought up for so I get wanting to feel like you were wronged in that moment rather than the victim's of a historic end to a playoff game that people will remember for years, but I just don't see it. With Nurse's hesitation and Maxey immediately starting to bobble the ball after the inbounds, even if you argue that the refs should've given the TO, it's not egregious for them not to.

Same way Brunson's jersey tug was no worse than Maxey's push-off, which the refs also let go. There just wasn't anything super obvious in sequence even if there was a number of marginal calls that could've gone the other way if it were a regular season game.

EDIT:
Here's the slowed down video. Nurse doesn't uncurl his left hand until the ball is already out of Lowry's hands and he immediately pulls his hands apart once he realizes that he doesn't need to burn the TO on avoiding an inbounds violation:

at 16 seconds Lowry starts to pass the ball and Nurse's hand is still in the claw.

I don't know why this is making me chuckle so much...but I now kinda wish in arena staff were a little more trolly and the people at MSG started working on a pizza-chef filter to use whenever showing Nurse on screens inside the arena

Can't heap enough love on RobinHart. Mitch was huge in game one and his brother came up huge in game two. I know that both deserve to start...but I really hope that their bromance keeps them in NY together.

With Mitch on a descending contract, we could make the cap math work as long as both were cool with continuing to share the center minutes...if they were cool with continuing to share the center minutes.

I can't get over how bad that inbounds and subsequent defense was for the Sixers lol. Embiid, Harris, Batum just loafing around wanting no part of getting the ball; Batum further wanting no part of getting the ball by walking towards the board; Embiid boxing out Hart instead of Hartenstein. Mind-boggling to see at this level, and in the playoffs.

It'll be a while til this stops giving me chills. I started to fist pump as soon as OG started to swing that to Divo because I could just feel that shot going in after the way iHart ripped that rebound down.

Watching it as slowly as I can there is a split second where Nurse straightens out his left hand and it's not clear if he's making contact with his right...but he immediately pulls his hands apart and that was a frame or two after the ball had already left Lowry's hands.

It's around the 12 & 18 second marks in the first video. Around 18 you can see the frame where Nurse does clearly straighten out his claw though by the next frame he's already moving his hands apart. And around 12 you can see that that happens when the ball is already out of Lowry's hands.

Not hard to see why the refs would have figured that he was just preparing to call a TO if Lowry couldn't inbounds it before his 5 seconds were up...especially with the way Nurse ripped his hands apart as soon as he realizes that Lowry got it off in time.

Nurse froze.

Nurse has to take responsibility for not calling an immediate timeout right after Brunson hit the 3 and before the ref gave the ball to Lowry to inbound.

Again, after the Brunson 3, Nurse should have walked onto the court and call timeout. He waited to see the play develop and it cost him.
