This, even Hubie Brown was saying Dirk wasn't getting the calls early.

Dallas deserved the win better, but you know the league wants okc to go through..
Hopefully this ting goes to 7 and becomes an epic series.

I thought the call were Dirk got FT's when he split the double was a bad call.

There were a few phantom calls on Durant that i saw as well as Harden. BUt the one that pissed me off the most was Carter getting called for the charge when hardens feet were fully moving.

THAT right there is a perfect example of how corrupt the NBA is.

The NBA is corrupt by allowing the best FT shooting team in the league to shoot below their league average, and 5 less than the Mabs despite the latter team consisting primarily of jump shooters? You point to this game of how corrupt the league as opposed to the Miami game?

Leave the thread. Can't stand unwarranted complaints about the refs.

Thier defense was telling. This is a road game. OKC has something to prove. Dallas doesn't. Dallas turns the ball over less and they win. Simple as that. Its was a good game but someone had to win. Could have went either way. Durant made shots when it mattered.

If Dallas wins the next game they steal home court advantage.

Looking like last year? The Mavs just played their beat game since the finals and lost, making them 1-4 again OKC since the WCF's of last seasons playoffs.

I don't really understand the complaining. I thought the game was called fairly well, and if there was a slant towards anybody it was definitely towards Dallas.

That said, after watching the Heat game before, this game just became harder to watch. Seeing how a blow in the direction of LeBron was a foul and the refs continued calling it all game long no matter how pathetic the call they just made was, and then seeing them allow all that contact go on Durant was just wow.

I don't know what Carlisle is saving Haywood for....he needs to see more than 19 minutes. He probably needs closer to 30 minutes. A seven footer with his hands up coming to challenge a shot makes all the difference ESPECIALLY against a small team.

Too many drives and easy shots at the basket area definitely hurt us in that 4th Quarter.

Harden needs to be stopped.

Dirk has to man up defensively.

Wright and Mahimi are pretty bad interior defenders, although aside from the two blown shots at the basket in the 4th :banghead: , he played decently.

It was a well officiated game. Dallas had some really costly turnovers down the stretch that cost them the game. this is a great series and will be a 7 game series.

Usual ref bitching aside, I do think that this game was a perfect example of Durant's growth.

Yes, he was chucking like crazy, but last year or two years ago, this game isn't close enough for him to make the gamewinner. He was pretty terrific defensively (specially late when Ibaka/Perkins were busy with Dirk away from the paint and KD was the one deterring shots) and made plenty of smart passes down the stretch. He can finally impact the game even when his shot isn't falling.

Carlisle is WAY too liberal taking timeouts throughout the course of the game. And last night it cost him, with no timeout at the end of the third after Durant's shot.

I honestly believe that Chandler in the paint, which would've prevented some of drives by Harden and the eventual gamewinner by Durant. Give Durant a lot of credit for getting pass his defender and into the paint, but that was pretty uncontested.

Or if Chandler guards Ibaka, putting Dirk on Perkins (whose pretty much useless on offense)... no way does Ibaka light up the mavs with 70+% shotting.

yup. this game was a perfect example of how huge chandler was for the mavs last season. guy is a top 2 interior defender imo.

He also made Dirk a better defender. He was a leader. And, well, unlike Mahinmi he can finish strong around the rim. Eh, losing him was big. Replacing him with Mahinmi is even worse (I don't get why Haywoods PT is so limited)

The thing I don't get is why Carlisle pulled Haywood and put in Mahimi. The Mavs had great control of the game when Haywood was in. But Dallas shouldn't have been in that situation anyway, Carlisle has to realize what's working. Going forward OKC was lucky to pull that one off, the Mavs outplayed them most of the game. The adjustments are rather easy for the Mavs, they'll be out for blood in Game 2.

Why in hell are you derailing the thread ? I'm here talking Mavs/Thunder......I could careless about the 2nd round at this point.

And you shouldn't be so confident the Thunder will make the 2nd round kid.

I was thinking about that then he made that post. lol

Yeah, It's not like you're rooting to see Mavs next round. If you wanna be the best you gotta beat the best.

The only reason is that Haywood is a terrible ft shooter. There can easily be a crucial possession where he grabs an rebound and gets immediately fouled. But I'm with you, we should've stuck with him.

This will be an epic. I thought it would go 7 and judging by Game 1 we'll have a great series.

OKC would love to go to Dallas 2-0 up, otherwise Dallas going back at 1-1 becomes a PK.
