Yeah. I think the Nuggest can reach 5th seed at best but we will see.
Of course. As I insinuated, Nuggets being a top 3 seed is more likely than blazers being the worst team in the west, even if the West looks to be as competitive as ever.
Top 4 PF, top 7 SF and a ROY candidate doesnt look to project that low from an objective standpoint.
Nuggets Roster:
McGee/Mozgov/Koufos
Faried/Harrington/Randolph
Gallinari/Chandler/Brewer/QMiller
Afflalo/Hamilton/Stone
Lawson/Miller
Thats tons of depth right there but a 3 seed? I guess if they stay healthy they have a shot.
Batum is the top 7 SF your talking abotu right? Talk about an inconsistent player, you think he is top 7 in the deepest position in the league right now?
1. LeBron James
2. Kevin Durant
3. Carmelo Anthony
4. Rudy Gay
5. Paul Pierce
6. Danny Granger
7. Luol Deng
Theres 7 for you... didnt even mention Andre Iguodala, or Danilo Gallinari, or, the guy that started ahead of him when they played together, Gerald Wallace. Is Tyreke Evans considered a SF now? Kawhi Leonar and Beasley should both have good years. Id say right now Batum is Top 15 for sure, depends on who you ask but he could maybe squeek into the top 10... maybe.
Go Knicks!

Re: Seed the West
Its amazing that some people have the Timberwolves being a top 5 seed when they might not even make the playoffs. How often does a team (that didn't add any superstars in the offseason), jumped from being outside of the playoffs to a high seeded playoff team?
Teams that kept their starting 5, similar rotation, coaches, etc. will be better throughout the season. That's the Spurs, OKC, Grizzlies and Nuggets. I believe the Spurs kept their top rotational players from last season. OKC pretty much did outside of Mohammed and replaced him. Grizzlies kept all of their players outside of OJ and replaced him with multiple guys.
The Lakers and Clippers will still carry good records because they have guys that will end taking it to another level as the season progresses, even though they've made the most changes to their roster out of the top 6 teams from last year's playoffs. Spurs, OKC, Grizz and Nuggets are the only ones with the same exact starting five carrying over. Its hard for me to see Denver take their game to another level, though. I have yet to see anyone on their roster play like an All-NBA player to even make a difference come playoff time. The difference between Memphis and Denver is that we have seen that from Zach Randolph. I expect him to come back at a similar level after a full offseason and training camp.
All the other teams will be battling it out for the 7th and 8th spots. The Twolves are relying on Rubio, who has yet to do any major offseason work due to his injury and a guy that retired last season. Utah have not made any significant improvement to make them that much better than last season. A team like Minnesota making the playoffs as an 8th seed is great. OKC did it before they got the 4th seed the year after. Memphis did it and got the 4th seed after.

agree about minny people also forget when comparing last years schedule that a lot of the weaker teams had an easier strength of schedule because the league was trying to put out more quality games, they'll maybe be a playoff team but anything beyond 8th is a reachteamgrizz wrote:Its amazing that some people have the Timberwolves being a top 5 seed when they might not even make the playoffs. Re: Seed the West
Minny has too many moving parts to predict their performance. Kirilenko, Schved and Roy are all gambles of varying risk. Rubio's health is a concern. Pekovic was a bit dinged up towards the end as well. Love had the concussiony thing. None of them alone are enough to give you second thoughts, but there are just too many variables. You end up with a whacky range from the 3 seed to 11th in the conference. Predicting where they're going to finish is throwing darts blindfolded.

^ I don't really think 3 or 11 is a possibility for them.
