Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread
I have a feeling this thread is going to be mainly discussing Drummond and Valanciunas. Drummond because he's going to have as many high games as low ones due to his rawness and that'll cause a ton of knee jerk reactions, and Valanciunas because he's a Raptor.

Needs more Nando de Colo. Guy was made for the highlight reel.

What the hell were the Cavs thinking?
They could've had
Kyrie
Thompson
Drummond
Kyrie
Barnes
Thompson
But they go with Dion Waiters. Dion Waiters?

Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread
I woulda gone with Kyrie/Val/Barnes. Nicely balanced.
Very few coaches would enjoy having 2 rookie bigs.

True that, although Robinson would not be a bad option too. Val/Robinson frontcourt could have been deadly.

I honestly think there's a chance Scott Machado is starting caliber PG right now

I'm amazed that you know how each player's career will turn out. Tell us more?

Would you like to make a monetary bet that Waiters will be a top 4 player from the 2012 draft in the year 2016?

Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread
Honestly
Kyrie
Barnes
Val
Zeller
would have been sick
i really think that taking Waiters instead of Barnes was a huge mistake. Rarely do you get the chance to draft a franchise PG/C/ and SF. Cavs had it and didn't want it.
*i do think Waiters will be a decent player, just not the Wade, pierce Tier of SG, while i think Barnes will be

"So even as Waiters' name stayed out of the mainstream news, as the days passed he was in the Cavs' internal headlines. Coach Byron Scott had fallen in love with Waiters' ability after watching plenty of film. As far as Scott was concerned, getting the 6-foot-4 shooting guard would be hitting a jackpot."

Will you take Byron's opinion over every other GM and basketball analyst in the world?

Byron Scott's Team picks:
2000: #1 - Kenyon Martin. Good pick at the time.
2001: #7 - Eddie Griffin. Passed Richard Jefferson, Joe Johnson, Zach Randolph, Gerald Wallace, Dalembert, Parker, Arenas.
2005: #4 - Chris Paul. No brainer pick at the time. Everyone thought Utah had gone crazy. Still credit to the org.
2007: #13 - Julian Wright. Not in the NBA

LOL your such a joke. 6ft pg who was suspended for punching a guy in the balls was a no brainer pick.
Also it isn't about who Byron picked. Byron didn't pick Waiters, and no cavs fan is saying he did. You obviously don't follow our team, but it was veyr weird how giddy Byron was over waiters, especially from a guy who is notoriously hard on players, ESPECIALLY Rookies.

Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread
Lillard with 50% shooting, 20 points, but 1 more turnover than assist.
Unselfish scoring PG, with a high floor but low ceiling, seems to remain the MO at the moment.
