I'm hoping Giles has a great rookie year, but I don't think he'll put up the raw stats to attract the ROY votes.

I think it might go something like this -

Doncic
Ayton
Young
Carter
Knox

Then Sexton, SGA, JJJ, Giles, Bagley next up. They might actually overtake and go top 5, these guys will have plenty of opportunity.

Frank Jackson qualifies as a rookie I'm pretty sure. Sleeper pick ;)

I think some of you sleeping on Dzanan Musa. Couldn't believe he almost dropped out of the first round, bigtime steal IMO, young man can play. As of now, his big problem is that he really doesnt really have one elite skill, he can do a lot of things, but nothing particularly very well, but as a prospect hes great, with ability to contribute right away somewhat. He is like 6'8 combo guard with good handle and scorers mentality.

If he's starting this early working on these things, things we as Knicks fans thought he'd work on in the coming years?! :o :o :o

Not necessarily a good thing though. In my opinion it's better to begin in the NBA in a defined role and expand your game along the line.

He's doing that tho.

In SL he averaged like 4 BPG and close to 12 RPG. If he wants to start early in expanding his Offensive game, there's nothing really wrong with that.

It's going to be awhile before he even comes close to consistent out there on the Perimeter. So it's good if he starts early in learning. :D

I've said this on the home thread, I wouldn't mind him starting the first month of the season down in the G league just to get his confidence level up. I'm mostly basing this on Mitch not having played ball for one year. Of course, he could kill it in preseason too.

Mitch is gonna have that Whiteside impact early on if he continues to apply himself.

Over the course of his career tho, if be develops a Perimeter or Midrange shot, then the ceiling is v unlimited for him.

People just gotta be patient with him tho. He's locked up for 4 years on a cheap ass deal ($1.4 Million per IIRC).

Doncic looking good so far. He's made some bad passes, but he has shot efficiently and seems to have one hell of a handle. Doncic is also built like a tank, so he shouldn't struggle against physical players.

On the other hand, he's playing against the Ducks.

Simmons & Doncic = Magic & Bird 2.0

Closest I've seen to either player since they've been gone and I don't even think it's hyperbole.

Doubt there will be a similar rivalry but playing style wise I see both.

Wow the hot take, that is like 1000 games too early!

Tell me who the next Jordan is...

Embiid is Kareem and DeAndre Jordan is Robert Parish. It’s all making sense.

I have come around on him, did not realize how big he is. Smooth jumper and go coast to coast. I can buy the playing style but its a long shot that either player ever becomes even close to that accomplished.

No Kidding. I think Doncic could have been really good for the Kings, but it is not like he scored 70 points today. Relax people.

I think Bagley can be a really good player as well.

Yes but Detlef had PF size where Doncic does not. I'm not sold in his ability to hang with NBA guards athletically.

Not nearly the shooter Peja is but will be much better at everything else. Don't see it at all besides the Euro thing.
