I’d cut 3 or 4 different Hornets for him in a nanosecond. More OKC scrubs please

Wow. Thought for sure he turned a corner at the beginning of last year and would turn into a decent role player. I'm still a believer! (in him becoming a rotational player, not MVP lol)

The problem with Presti's plan is that when you have too many assets, you have to eventually start cutting actual good players and assets because theres just no room.

He wont be unemployed long. I hope Dallas takes a gamble.

People usually say this and the guys he cuts go nowhere despite folks salivating. Happened with Moses Brown. Happened with Isaiah Roby.

Poku needs a bad team where he can play free and learn. He wouldn't get into the rotation in Dallas.

Poku was trash even when Okc hadn’t any asset on the field

Slick Watts posted that there was a rumor that he was asked to go the the g league and he refused the assignemment. If that's the case, he kind of had it coming.

Idk I feel like Mann and Micic are victims of it too and (I know its a short sample size) they look great now that they have opportunities.

I just think Presti has them in a situation where he is stuck having to somewhat sell low on guys because theyre so deep and cant showcase trade candidates as much or having to just cut guys outright, despite them seemingly having some value left, for the same reason.

Regarding Poku, I just dont really understand how he wasnt able to salvage at least something of value in return for a 22 year old stretch 4 that started half the games he played in throughout his career so far.

Maybe. But its still surprising that he couldnt find a buyer while hes still on a rookie contract. Even if hes flawed, he's still healthy (currently) and started in half of the games he played in. I wouldve thought some team out there wouldve taken a flyer at the expense of some SRPs anyway, or even as a throw in for the Hayward trade.

I agree with this in general, but not necessarily about Poku in particular. They’re at the point where asset consolidation is pretty critical. It’s a good problem to have, but they’ve reached the point where they will be devaluing their assets as soon as this draft.

It’s going to happen more often, the Thunder have too many future draft picks

There's going to be more or this from OKC. This is the other side of having too many picks. Clipps need to pick this guy up asap!

He reminds me of Christian Wood on the Sixers. The talent is there and it is going to come out eventually even if he has to bounce around a bit first.

MVP? Nope but assuming he is able to get past these injuries he is going to have a NBA career

there is a rumor floating around all season that the reason poku was buried is because he refused a g-league assignment. unlike tre mann, the thunder had a role for poku's skillset available all season, one that they variably threw ousmane dieng and others into. poku's third year was better than any season of dieng and maybe even jaylin williams and he's put in the work to grow bigger and stronger.

i think the thunder gave up on him too soon, and he could probably be a role player someplace and contribute. he has good defensive instincts and can handle the ball a bit. unlike ousmane dieng he gets his share of stocks.

If he can’t find his place in a rotation after four years, he just stanks.
