Ben Simmons officially OUT for Game 4

The contracts need to be changed so that you only make 10% or something if you don't play (if/when a neutral team of doctors declare you healthy enough to play).

It's really silly that these guys can keep getting paid and basically have the option of playing or not.

How is he even an NBA player at this point...he doesn't actually play, even when able to.

IDK if there was some overarching goal here or what...but with the load management, back to backs, guys constantly sitting out. Kawhi Leonard, Lebron etc. The league and Silver have no one to blame but themselves. They created this by being weak. Simmons just exploited it to an extreme degree.

I dont know if young guys are just less competitive now or what, but it's very odd that someone would choose not to play basketball. It's not exactly dangerous.

Also find it interesting the European players dont pull this nonsese.

If you miss an entire year you become eligible for medical retirement. Simmons doesn’t want to reset the clock. If he gets medical retirement he gets paid the full $140 million left on his contract, but his contract does not count against the Nets salary cap.

Tony Kornheiser used to joke early on in Silver's tenure "if there were a living, breathing commissioner" cause he felt that Silver never did anything and that the players ran the league in contrast to Stern who if it wasn't Magic/Jordan/Bird had no problem letting players know who was boss.
