Orlando fell last year and took Suggs while Detroit won and landed Cade.

I would GLADLY trade you Suggs and #1 for Cade and #5. Deal?

My point, be grateful you won the #1 pick when there was a clear/safe #1.

I'm a pistons fan but have to disagree with you. Detroit has been terrible in the lotto outside of Cade last year. Who have we picked that is any good?

2020 - Killian Hayes
2017 - Luke Kennard
2015 - Stanley Johnson
2013 - KCP
2012 - Andre Drummond
2011 - Brandon Knight
2010 - Greg Monroe
2003 - Darko

Along with a bunch of crap at 15: Stuckey, Daye and Sekou. I'd argue that Detroit has been as bad as anyone when it comes to making picks in the lotto.

Were any of those top 4 picks outside of Darko?

Only Darko top 4. Still there was no excuse with taking Kennard over Mitchell, our whole board thought that was a terrible pick. I'm fine with it because the butterfly effect is real. Had we taken Mitchell, we wouldn't have Cade now. My point is we suck making lotto picks.

Give me Chet or Jabari. I’m good with either.

And then let’s move up and do it again in the top 10.

Well good! Hopefully he makes it clear that he would never play for the Thunder so we don't waste our pick on him.

Yeah, I don't get why some Pistons fans are so angry. They got the real prize last draft, everything is gravy after that.

Your team is building something real nice.
Who are you guys pulling for? Chet seems like the perfect fit stylistically and with the Suggs connection but that's just an outsider perspective.

Kings have had a good record in the draft since the Bagley pick. Both Haliburton and Mitchell will be good, borderline potential All Stars in a few years

I posted this in our board...i dunno how many got the reference cuz i really dunno how many old timers are still on our board... but here we go..

I remember back in 2k4... in 2k3 there was a clear #1 by a kid nicknamed the king then in 2k4 we were all debating between a skinny braces high schooler and a ncaa champ with an adonis level body...

Now in 2022.. 2021 draft had a clearcut #1 where everyone was "fade" for him. In our draft there isn't a clearcut #1 as well... between a skinny braces longboi, an adonis level final four ncaa powerhouse player and a throwback to our finals run in a sweetshooting big. Hmmmm...

I lean towards Jabari but could possibly be talked into Chet still. Do not want Paolo.... and Sharpe is intriguing but not at #1.

No predictions for Top-4 as I'll be preoccupied with my Magic tonight.

It will be an intense few minutes.

Voodoo!

Congrats!

I knew they'd do well and was calm.

It feels great to get #1 again.

Yeah, some Pistons fans letting emotions get the best of them on here. Pistons got very lucky in the year you really wanted to get lucky. Dropping 2 spots in a year where the draft is pretty wide open is far from the end of the world. You can't ask for perfect luck every time. Weaver actually has a job to do this year.

Not every time, just these two years. We've had one top 1 pick in like 50 years and have picked in the top 4 like twice in 25 years....let us have this. I would feel better if we got jumped by a decent organization but it was THE KINGS.

I came here to post this basically.

I wish the nba could invoke a rule that hurts your odds the more consecutive times you’re in the lotto and don’t win games. Orlando & Sacramento just don’t currently have good orgs for developing young talent. It’s so wasteful, other teams would make more out of having so many chances.

It's really weird to invoke Orlando to make a case for Detroit being more deserving of a top pick. They've essentially performed the same as Detroit over the last decade.

I'm all for a rule that 1) lowers your chances of a top 3 picks if you had one last year and/or 2) lowers your chances of a top 5 pick if you've had multiple in the last x number of years but really, it's OKC that the rule should target.

Whelp, this is the height of ignorance.

Exactly what top 5 pick has OKC had in... say... the last decade?

I'm interested to see what the Kings do with their pick.

Do they make a "win now" trade or who do they draft?!? Personally I wouldn't take Murray over either of Ivey or Sharpe and ofc they already have Mitchell & Fox....

I'm just saying this isn't the year you spend your luck. Especially not worrying about the difference between 4 and 5, which is TOTALLY wide open in this draft. And even 1-3 are far from locks to be great players like last year.

And remember that #6 was our most likely spot by the numbers. #5 was definitely not the bad luck option.

You know there is always a chance that the top 3 players that are selected can be busts or fail to achieve expectations.
