I heard all this nonsense even when Murray was cooking en route to their title.

The team defense in transition and stopping the 3 is horrible, that's the biggest issue. They need to remain hot from the field and outscore teams in shootouts because they can't seem to consistently get stops.

Murray has just been made to be a scapegoat for the bigger issues. He's doing his thing this year.

Well, he was very bad to start the season, and Denver was suffering. But now he's found his groove and the Nuggets are absolutely cooking offensively. Not a coincidence. He's the second most important player on this roster.

With Murray (similar to Middleton) every year there's only one thing to ask: can he stay healthy.

Are you serious? He was horrible against the Lakers and the only reason why the games were even close.

Seems like 36 year old Westbrook has surpassed 27 year old Murray as Jokic's #2 man.

20pts 6ast on 45/42/90 shooting in his last 15 games. Let’s be honest if Russ did that people would be saying he’s better than he’s ever been.

Murray was bad last game against Dallas other than the 4th quarter where he was outstanding. But in general he is slowly playing much better so odd timing on your thread bump.

Even in a great game like this one, all the Murray limitations were there on display.
He was stopping the ball, overdribbling, setting for tough shots.
Today he was making them, though, but it's a risky edge to walk on.

He really won the lottery landing in Jokic's team. I wonder who his career would have developed, otherwise.

Yes and no. He's clearly in better basketball shape than he was in November, but his limitations as of late have been due to lingering injuries.

Not just the hamstring, but his knee, and he also has plantar fasciitis. How he plays from here on out is completely dependent on how his legs are feeling.

I wasn't ever going to call him washed but I'm also not going to say he's "back" based on this game. It was a good game, as was Q4 of the previous game, but he's got to be consistently good before we can believe he's really back.

It cracks me up when posters bump a thread after just one game.

Bump the thread after he does it consistently.
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

If he scores 5 points tomorrow, someone will bump it again. It goes both ways

I thought he over dribbled less this game and just got into his shot which he should do more of. But yeah, his game is built off of tough shotmaking which along with his injuries and lack of burst is why he’s so on and off.

Even after that heater his numbers for the season are abysmal. Has a lot of catching up to do....

A poster bumped the thread just hours before his 45 point game last night criticizing Murray and saying Westbrook is better. So your post is not only wrong, it couldn’t possibly be more wrong.

They always cooked offensively. They were constantly top 5 in offense in the majority of the season. Defensively, they started to look different. In a ten game stretch, they are 2nd in defense behind okc. That's a massive improvement compared to what they were.

However, if Jamal Murray brings it offensively too, they are a dangerous team.
