Yeah! The CHA TT was less efficient and took more shots. Sweet!

  Yeah, I'll take your word for it when you looked at stat sheets while I actually watched the games

It's similar in cap hit to what the Hawks gave Marvin Williams - slightly above the MLE. Not a bad deal as long as Thomas continues to play hard.

When I saw the headline 'Thomas signs with Bobcats for 40 million over 5 years' I had to open it up to make sure it was Tyrus Thomas, because I was not believing that it could be him getting that kind of cash.

A lil stunned.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

5/40? Geez. Along with the deals of Gooden, Amir, Outlaw, Warrick, Frye and Milicic, I can only reach one conclusion...

It's official - Charlie Villanueva is no longer an atrocious contract! The market has become so messed up, he's just about right!

 Thank god for MJ.

They (Nets) backed out this morning – presumably – because it took this long to convince Avery Johnson that it would be a foolhardy investment:

Thats just a disgusting deal for Tyrus, I don't understand what would make someone think he's worth that much.

Next thing we know Adam Morrison's going to get a huge contract.

IF Brian Cook can get signed, then there is hope for AMMO.

Love the signing. 5 yr 40 mil is a very reasonable contract. The first year being high doesn't matter a damn bit it is still 5/40.

Consider the other guys who have signed.

Warrick 4/18 (translates to 5/22.5)
9.6 ppg 4.1 rpg 0.7 apg 0.3 spg 0.2 bpg 20.5 mpg 28 years old

Salmons 5/39
15.4 ppg 3.3 rpg 2.8 apg 1.2 spg 0.3 bpg 34.9 mpg 31 years old

Outlaw 5/37
9.1 ppg 3.6 rpg 1.0 apg 0.5 spg 0.5 bpg 21.5 mpg 26 years old

Tyrus Thomas 5/40
9.4 ppg 6.2 rpg 1.0 apg 1.2 spg 1.6 bpg 22.6 mpg 24 years old

My point is proven...The only way you would only say something that (Please Use More Appropriate Word) is if you didn't actually watch TT play in a bobcat uniform.. you watch stat sheets, I watch the games... Tyrus is infinitely better then Boris Meow...

It should tell you something the only people that are saying that this is a bad signing are non bobcat fans... People who actually had a close eye on TT's play for the last 6 months think this is a good contract.. so fall back

Congratulations, you are the one millionth person to claim that a player on your team is much better than their stats show. You win the right to shut up for a while. Enjoy...

i dont understand what the bobcatss are doing. they seem to be content fighting for the 7-8th seed knowing that they will get swept by whoever they play. The team has no young talent, no franchise player, its just a team full of veterans built to win now only they wont be able to win in the playoffs

The only "old" veterans on the team that get any PT are Stephen Jackson and Nazr Mohammed... the rest of the team is 28 or younger... are you stupid or just making **** up?

And the bobcats have a nice core right now, have 2 big expirings next year, Tyson(13 miliion) and nazr(7 million).. The bobcats would have made damage in the playoffs this year if they didn't play their worst possible match up.. to put things in perspective ATL, got swept(by a wider margin) as well

Yeah, one looks like Memphis-era Stromile Swift and the other looks like Houston-era Stromile Swift.

Good god. These teams need to take the cap space and use it in trades mid-season. Half of these teams are going to be trying to dump these guys' contracts one year from now.

Guys like Okafor and Monta Ellis aren't great, but you'll get them on shorter deals and possibly with fillers like Collison or picks if you take your cap space into the regular season rather than send a huge 5 year contract to a guy like Thomas.

The bobcats have peaked, their a team just trying to make it to the playoffs as a low seed, and they seem content with that. Most of their core have 6-8 seasons of NBA experience, which means they have limited potential, and what you see from them, is waht you are going to get. And what you see is a team battling for .500. Worst of all they severely lack young talent, they have some young players, but they haven't shown much.. Look i know the bobcats are your team and you hate it when people diss them, but im just speaking the truth..

Bobcats got a good deal. 8 million for 5 years? That's really good for them.
All they need is to make sure Tyrus has his head on right.
