Because the alternative is retaliation. Christians are commanded to love and pray for their enemies, not fight them.

Whether the consequence is that they´d become systematic victims, as you put it perpetual doormats, is besides the point.

Lin's agent Jim Tanner and his agency represent Tim Duncan, Grant Hill, Shane Battier, etc. I doubt he would go out in public and give a bald face lie to Woj (on the record and willing to stake their reputation no less), in direct opposition to the Houston FO leak. They've got a reputation to maintain.

It's been known that they were gonna trade Lin for awhile now, so while this is still a bit of a dick move, I don't think eveyrbody should be so angry. What's making me shake my head is all the people acting like Lin's career ended after Linsanity and he's complete ass now. And, LOL at the Rockets thinking they could lie to Woj of all people and get away with it. Woj knows everything!

Ah, I see there goes the argument of people saying they should have used 15 instead of 7.

Houston talking about signing Melo when they clearly can't even afford a decent quality camera or a 4K display screen outside the arena.

Look at those grainy pictures.

This is what I hate about pro sports. Teams can treat players like absolute trash, yet if roles were reversed and Lin was under contract, visiting teams wearing another teams jersey and trying to force a trade there, the media and fans would explode.

'Maybe not as much anymore because Lin isn't a star but if a top player did that, you know how it would turn out.

But fair enough. So you know, no one will be more elated and relieved than Lin fans when he gets traded so I guess he feeling is mutual.

The Rockets put together a similar presentation for Dwight last year. Beverley wanted Dwight on the team and said that he didn't care what number he wore and would let Dwight have 12 if he signed with Houston.

man, just stop it...they did the same thing for dwight but they made sure you can't see the number

Legacy of Bigs? The first video is what they used to recruit him. Looked like a 12 to me at the 55 second mark.

how am I showing arrogance? Lin is just butthurt because he by chance wears the same number Melo wore. Who cares? It's Jeremy Lin anyway

You're going places with this attitude.

You mean he's going to be promoted from cleaning toilets to mopping floors at McDonalds?

Three of the most image conscious players in the NBA. Two of whom I've met and can tell you their public image does not equate to their personal lives. I am not saying they are criminals, drug users or wife beaters...just normal people like most of the NBA.

All Morey has to do to stop this PR disaster about him and his people lying, is by having him or anyone from the organization go on record and refute the claims by saying that Lin was informed. The fact that they haven't done so, but are sneaky enough to try to leak "off the record" as "sources" when caught flat out lying to Woj speaks volumes.

It's not really the trade that has some people riled up (everyone expects Lin to be likely gone one way or another) but the fact that Morey and his people are lying to Woj and attempting to use him as part of the cover up to quell the PR flap.

MaxRider, I don't think that is correct. Those players were drafted before Asik was traded however at the time the picture was taken (a couple of days ago), I'm pretty sure that Asik was already gone.

How would it up Lin's value? If anything the fact that this story came out and that it is very clear the Rockets disrespected Lin it hurts both Lin's trade value, and the Rockets franchise in the eyes of agents and players.

Yet you're a regular poster on the Rockets board so what exactly are you saying?

We all know you're an avid Lin supporter, no need to wage a personal war against me all of a sudden when we've never had any problems as far as I know. I don't think I've ever posted two words towards you until right now. Calm down. It will all be over soon. Lin makes 15 million dollars next year. He'll be fine.

That wasn't me that posted that quote btw, the quoting system screws things up.

I have nothing against you or the Rockets forum in fact I think that you are a very fair moderator. I hold the RealGM Rockets forum in high regard as I think it's 10x better than another popular Rockets fan-site which I'm not a member of.

I just don't agree with your stance on this one and am lashing out a bit in frustration. I apologize for the personal attack by saying "Classy", it was unwarranted.

Yeah my bad. I edited that original post. I was definitely trying to quote hayden and delete some of the extra quotes that were taking up too much space, but it came out wrong.

Yes but that's really hinging on technicalities. Everyone knew that the trade was imminent at the time of that picture. Not the same situation here.

It is a totally different situation and I think you know it. Asik is gone, it is just waiting on the paperwork to be done, he knows it, his agent knows it, the teams know it, the players all know it, and the fans all know. Lin is not traded, and will only be traded if the Rockets can land a top free agent, so he is still 100% on the team.
